LOVE the way you styled the black, Jenava! Glad the nursing strategy is working.

Well, I reached to pack up the orange dress (I just have to keep the black. it has a tiny bit of dark gold in it that just gives me shivers...)

But something about the colors and the pintucks had me trying it on again. I am giving it a trial run today - with the tags tucked into my cuff - no belt, cinnamon cardigan.

The orange dress was less than $40 and the black was a mere $50, so both dresses together are less than I'd usually pay for one! Not that price should matter, since I also have to store them both and don't want to own clothes that I don't wear....so if I keep it now and then get rid of it later that's a cost to me to store and get rid of it later.

As for nursing, my son only just weaned himself at almost 6 years old. My daughter is 2 and likely won't nurse as long as he did but I expect at least another year or two. When I worked in the office I would easily come home and change. But being at home all day that just doesn't work. I wouldn't pull that dress up because the waistline wouldn't easily fit over my chest (plus it would be chilly! LOL)

Thanks for all the input, I'm glad you all see the same thing in the black dress that I do. Black isn't even my color, but for some reason this dress just hits a special note.

@Minaminu,
The shape of the sage green dress doesn't appeal to me as much. I keep trying it on and thinking how great it would be for a fancy garden party or afternoon bridal/baby shower in the summer, but the truth is I don't love the way the skirt goes out from the high waist on me. I prefer a waistline a little lower. It's gorgeous quality, though, so it's lingered in my closet even though I've only worn it once (to a bridal shower). But truth is, I have more flattering and equally appropriate frocks so it really should find a new home (and I regret the purchase).

I like this styling of the orange dress with the rust sweater and no belt...

Just an FYI that I always toss the self belts (into my donate basket) and use a nicer looking piece of my own. If you have a sweater or belt in a sort of sage to army green, that would be really pretty with the print on the pumpkin dress.

I particularly like the black one for you. It is flattering, it's pretty and I think you have a reasonable amount of styling options with it. I appreciate it's not suitable for feeding right now but that is only for a short time and the dress hopefully will remain in your wardrobe for a longer time. I love it.

Jenava, thanks for the explanation! It makes sense to free up some space in the wardrobe and only keep the items that you love
