Oh, Angie, these silhouettes are so you. I'm kind of excited--I think this style of pant would be a lot more flattering on me than the wider-legged ones I've been trying out lately. They are pants for dry days, though.

Angie, you must try that last red outfit! Like Gaylene, a had a 70's flashback. I would try this style if I don't need heels to make it work. If not, I'll enjoy it very much on the rest of you.

I have some Balmain-inspired bootcuts waiting in the wings. I just can't decide if I want to hem them, get a higher heel to wear with them, or what. I really really want to wear them, though! Ack!

I am super excited about this look! I am looking forward to wearing more bootcuts/flares in the upcoming season. I am wondering if the cut of these Gucci bootcuts is similar or somwhat different from the ones from the past?

Yes, like Joy and Gaylene, I took a look at the colors and styles - they just scream 1970s.

Wow. I wish it was the 80s that were back (again) But I can pluck a few choice items from the 70s for this fall. I could get behind the idea of a trench coat with big lapels, that's for sure.

I loved the more muted '70s colors and looked awful in the bold '80s colors (tried them, but couldn't make them work with my personal coloring), so there ya go. There was a period in the late '70s when earth tones were in, and those were the colors I looked and felt best in.

I found the following link:

Quote from article: It’s also hard to miss the fact that color almost completely disappeared by 1979. Earth tones, grays, whites and blacks were back in full force, as people had apparently tired of the super bright tones of the early 1970s.

Bootcuts are great... although I always thought a traditional bootcut had a lot less flare than these. The trouble I always have though, is that although I am somewhat short (only 5'4") I have almost disproportionately long legs for my height. So the hem often falls too high for me to wear these with anything but flats or sneakers.

Has anyone had much success with un-hemming and lengthening jeans? I have a great pair of Joe's I'd like to do this to. Any tips would be appreciated! I'm always worried I won't be able to get rid of the crease from where the existing hem was.

The colours, the silhouettes, the coats: I love that entire collection. And I am so in the mood to sport bootcut trousers again. Perhaps even bootcut jeans? I'm definitely enjoying wearing my flared jeans. Now if only the weather would cooperate a bit more often...

I still have some flare legged trousers, but only in black and gray. I'd like more colors.

I no longer own any bootcut jeans. For some reason, they don't look right on me. I'm keeping my slim-legged jeans.

OMG - I am dying over this thread! Firstly, I am in the market for a new winter coat, and these ones just make my heart sing! (particularly the blue and the herringbone.) Secondly, I was considering throwing away all my old bootcuts but now I think I will keep them around Thirdly, that first outfit, with its combination of texture and pattern, is one I fell in love with! i`ll try to recreate this at home...
