Hello, I have been reading forum but not participating much for a while. Hope everyone is doing well!

Things are OK on my end, I actually got tenure recently (and wore Angie-recommended JCrew Maddie pants and forum-recommended Theory Lanai blazer to the celebratory ceremony - here is a photo).

Just popping in to ask a question about a purse. I am thinking of buying this Furla handbag (I am really into structured handbags lately, and this one has the right size and a long shoulder strap - two things I like). I think that the wisest purchase for a fairly expensive item would be to go with a fairly universal color, such as black. However, I am also tempted by the emerald. Of course, the proximity to St Patrick's day may be coloring my perception. Which would you pick?

I have attached the other handbags I have (the Michael Kors crossbody/messenger bag I have is navy, not black, but I could not find one in navy online). My winter bags are navy crossbody (Michael Kors) and red Kate Spade (a fun way to brighten up my black puffer and black boots), my summer bag is going to be the Kate Spade bag in cashew. I think emerald might be tricky to match with some of the other colors in my wardrobe - like purple or burgundy or hunter green - but it might work with denim, navy, turquoise, white, red. My spring jackets/coates are JCrew navy field jacket, JCrew majesty peacoat in light blue, a denim jacket, as well as a bright red raincoat.

Anyway, thanks in advance for your thoughts! I think the bright green color is just a great pick-me-up in this gloomy transitional weather, which is why I am fixated on it.
