Hello my YLF family. Miss you all and need to come back and socialize a bit more.

I’m currently in a style rut ever since I’ve been working from home, but alas it is time to go back in October. Not sure how I feel about I was just getting used to working from home. Anyhoo, maybe it’s time for a style update so we shall see.

I wrote a nice long reply last night on my phone only to have it not go through. Ah such as it is.

Angie - Thank you so much for replying. In terms of a style rut, I really haven't shopped at all during Covid and had had no desire to until now because of work. This also might be temporary because I'm really considering retirement some time in 2022 and have to decide what that would mean in terms of my style.

While I still like my retro classic looks, I just need a change and am looking for a more minimalist look with a splash of rock and roll (think black and white, however I still do like a good print). I've been very nostalgic lately so my mood dictates my fashion. Also, I'm a Fall and Winter gal, so I'm looking forward to cooler weather fashion.

Also, body has changed a bit so not feeling as fab as before.

Helena, Catherine, rachylou, and MsMaven - I'm so glad to see you all and can't wait to post. I may have to some purging.

So wonderful to see you again, Naz! You look amazing in the photo, but the whole going back to work thing can throw us for a loop for sure. I love the idea of incorporating some minimalist and rock 'n' roll touches into your style. That is going to be fun. Just shout if you need help with anything at all!

Sometime when we are all up for it, we should do another DC area meetup!

You look great in the photo — I understand the rut feeling though! I feel like it’s time to do a little editing and refining of my wardrobe. I’m always a little afraid to get rid of stuff I think may be “useful” so it’s a challenge for me. But “useful” does not equal fab! Please post more on your struggle so we can help!

Ah, yes, Naz. Retirement and semi-retirement. Lots of Fabbers are going through that, and are dealing with how to proceed with their wardrobes. It takes time, so relax into it. Enjoy the process

So nice to ‘see’ you again! I retired 3.5 years ago, and experienced closet trauma! Much as I thought to keep and use some workwear - not much made the cut in the end. On the other hand, my style didn’t change much as a result of the pandemic. I think folks close to retirement looked at WFH dressing as a kind of (dress) rehearsal.

Runcarla - good to know. Let me know how retirement has been for you. I go through bouts of hatred and joy at work, but don't want to be impulsive about retirement.

Hi Viva- Thank you although my hair is a work in progress. As I've gotten older, my hair has gotten grayer and curlier so I just don the natural look, and maybe put some effort when I occasionally blow dry it.

Tanya - So good to hear from you. DC Ylf meet up sounds so good. Maybe we can try for October. Or, we can always a virtual meet up via Zoom.

It's great to see you! Working from home for extended periods can really sap the joy out of getting dressed, at least for me, so I can relate to your post! I always enjoy your style, so I hope you post some WIWs, especially once you return to the office in October!
