Hi my name is Nikki. I am 5'2 and 17 years old. My dream is to become a fashion model, so I need to grow 5 inches. Does anyone know how? Do any supplements work? I grew 2 inches from stretching in the last year, just need 5 more inches. Can anyone help me please?

Hi Nikki,

There is no known way to increase height. Some of it is genetic, some is environmental and some nutritional. So there isn't much that you can do. I just want ask you to please be careful so that you don't do anything dangerous and hurt your body. Girls don't have much growing left after 18.

With all that said, there are plenty of modeling opportunities that have nothing to do with the entire body or long legs. There are hair models, hand models, head models, petite models for petite clothing and so on. Try to think outside of the box from what you see as traditional models. Work with what you have and find your niche.

Thanks, but I really do believe there are ways to grow taller. I just need 5 inches, maybe if I put my mind to it, it will happen. I know I am ment to become a fashion model. I read online there was a girl that was 18 and 5'3, she said she didn't grow i n 3 years. Her family also had short genes, but she beilved that she was really tall; in three months she grew 6 inches! I can do it!

Hello!

I don't think there are any supplements that would help, but if you want to be sure, you could probably book an appointment with a nutritionist. I think a nutritionist would know the possibilities and also know how to do it safely. :^)

I think it's a very rare thing to grow significantly once you are in your late teens. Most fashion models are already at least 5'7" by the time they are 14.

Have you ever met with a modeling agency? It can be very, very eye-opening. I did when I was about your age and was flirting with the idea of some kind of modeling. It's not nearly as glamorous as many people think it is. I recommend doing some research and some soul-searching on what it is about the idea of modeling that makes it so appealing to you, and whether your ideas match the reality of the modeling world.

I'm not saying this to discourage you but to encourage you to focus on things you can actually control. By and large, height is not a trait we have much control over.

Hi Nikki,

Growing another 5 inches at your age seems unlikely, seeing that at 17 your growth plates are probably already closed, or almost closed.
Maybe you will become the first petite supermodel

Thanks everyone, but I know if I put my mind to it I will grow 5 inches. Also I don't think my growth plates are closed becuase I grew 1/2 inch a month or two ago. I WILL grow, and I WILL become a fashion model, I just have to have patience, and believe in my self. Miracles can happen:-)
