Hi Kari,

I agree with others that you are gorgeous Best wishes for your goals. I thought I would share an Australian website that allows you to track caloric intake and fitness goals like WW online but it's free.

The site is http://www.calorieking.com.au/ Hopefully it's also useful for US residents

You have such a wonderful, positive attitude, Kari. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us. I have been striving to achieve that level of comfort in my own skin for many years. I am not quite there yet, but I am working on it. I wish you the best of luck on your weight loss journey. I lost 40 lbs. on WW about 10 years ago. Unfortunately, I have gained it back and now want to lose it again for good. I am contempating doing the online program, too. I just need to commit! You are one of my faves here on YLF and I think it is because your sweet spirit just comes through those pictures in your smile and your thoughtful posts! Hugs to you!

This is a lovely, thought-provoking post, Kari. I appreciate your perspective so much! To love and respect yourself--all aspects of yourself--is such a gift. It's funny how we can sometimes be so generous with others, but stingy and exacting with ourselves. Your insights are a pleasure to read.

What an awesome way to look at things, Kari! So positive and uplifting. You ARE beautiful just the way you are. Self confidence is so important. Keep that attitude and good luck on your healthy habits journey. You can have nothing but great results!

Rock on, Kari! You're beautiful inside and out.

It sucks that it takes some of us a long time to get to a positive place and at peace with ourselves. I look back on myself as a teen and college student - all this time wasted on insecurity. I think I had some body dysmorphia, too - it's weird and scary how self perception can fail us badly.

Thanks for sharing your confident feelings with us! You do indeed look great!

I know this is an old thread, but I came across it yesterday and it really resonated with me. I, too, have never been able to shame myself into losing weight. I lost a bunch of stubborn post-baby weight this past fall after trying unsuccessfully for a long time. I don't think it was a coincidence that my weight loss happened right after I finally decided to invest in some new clothes for my larger size. As soon as I had a new work wardrobe that made me look better and feel more confident, the pounds really started to come off.

You go girl! (The cuteness of your workout gear may have inspired me to toss the ratty old tee shirts I run in).

Seriously, though, pat yourself on the back. You're going about this the right way. And of course you already look fab.

Hi Kari,
First of all you truly are a gorgeous woman with a lovely shape who has a good
sense of self. Making the comittment to live a healthy lifestyle is so much more important then just wanting to change how we look. That desire to live healthily provides all the building blocks that are needed to move us to the place we want to be. Losing OR gaining desired weight is just a part of that process and is a lovely bonus we get as a result of taking care of ourselves.

You look fantastic, and you have such a great attitude too! I agree with everyone here that you rock.

Hi all... I'm not sure if you are aware but this is an old thread!
Kari - You are even more amazing 1 year later!
