I'm interested in this coat in the nutmeg color but the petite sizes are sold out in both colors. I'll check back tomorrow when NAS opens to the public. In the meantime has anyone ordered tried it and could comment on fabric etc?

Chris, I have this coat in two sizes, regular medium and large No comment from me yet. I am going to wait until I see others comments. I am such an indecisive person!

My Mom bought this for me when we were shopping at the NAS for my birthday, Thanks Mom. I got it in grey, both colors are good. I am 5'4' (barely) and normally wear a 6 in dresses and small in tops, sometimes a medium. I got the regular small and it fits well. I will need to roll the sleeves but I am fine with that. I like the length on the regular on me.

Thanks for the comments. I am looking for a dressy coat for fall and spring that is not a trench coat, and for my climate this would be perfect. I have very few coats for those in between seasons. Cherylm thanks for the sizing info...yourcomments confirm my belief that I'd need a petite. I'm short but not particularly slim.

I am back with a comment. I do not think it will help with your decision, but here it is. I love this coat. It was the first item I loved when I got my catalog, I made a check by it and referred to it several times.It was the first item in my first order. I ordered two--regular medium and large. Both sizes were in my first order received Monday. First two items I tried on.

I love the color Nutmeg, I think the fabric is great, and I personally think the coat looks more expensive than it is.

Now my goal is to return one or both of the coats by Monday 24th July one week after receiving! I will probably be making a separate post this weekend with some thought and/or questions .

Most of all Chris, I wish you luck and if you get the coat, that you will enjoy it.

Tried on regular sizes in a store today. This is large. Med was too tight in the hips. Sleeves are a ribbed knit and too long so folded. Coming home with me for further assessment. The sleeve length I would have to live with. Unsure if it's a tad too long but that could be altered. Will continue to stalk for restocked petite sizing. LOVE LOVE but don't want it to be mine if wrong size.

What do you think?

Ribbed knit sleeves can be altered too. But usually at the armhole which can screw up the fit there, so it's risky. If you're willing to live with folded up sleeves, might as well ask the Nordstrom tailors if they could hem them that way, with some added bulk but preserving the armhole.

Source of info: I had a ribbed sweater sleeve taken up at the armhole, done twice but the fit was never perfect. I also have had a leather jacket with inset ribbing on the sleeves shortened by folding up at the bottom and hemming--which was my trusted tailor's recommendation and she was totally right, it's barely noticeable at the cuff and the armhole is untouched.

Chris, I am back. As you know, I am considering that coat also. I love it, but I do not know about the fit. I can't post pics. That is on my bucket list, to get phone or camera and take pics and post. Not on my immediate list!

I am 5'2" and have the coat in medium and large. Medium is too small. Maybe the regular large is long for me. It is just slightly above knee length.

Do you mind telling me your height?

Again I want to say I think the coat is perfect for you or will be when you get the size and length you want. Good luck and thank you!

THanks Smittie, I'm hoping that either the M or L Petite sizes will be shorter and fit better. You are right about footwear but I'm trying to not get ahead of myself and get too invested in outfit planning until I get the two petite sizes and make sure I have a size that works

Style Fan this color would be great on you, but if you have enough fall coats already I get why you would pass. I do not have very many of them
and they are all casual jackets or trenchcoats. This coat is NOT very warm, so it could also work as an indoor topper for my climate (and yours) in deep winter, kind of like a long jacket.

Hi Bridgie, I am 5'1" or maybe 5'2" if I really stand up tall very short. The Medium regular was too small for me also, would not quite close properly in front. I'm wearing the Large regular in this photo, and although it closes properly in front, it seems a bit long in the sleeves and the hem. I'm hoping the Medium Petite or Large Petite will close properly, have the waist a tiny bit higher and shorter sleeves and length. I ordered both

Chris I may have enough Fall coats but it looks like I am going to have one more. I ordered the KC nutmeg coat. It was too gorgeous to pass up. Maybe we can be coat twins. I had not thought of it as an indoor topper.

I've started capturing a few pinterest styling ideas even though I said I didn't want to get ahead of myself.....I'll see if I can figure out how to post a link here..I'm still limping along with my iPhone and a very old cranky laptop (WIndows Vista) until my regular laptop is fixed but maybe I can figure something out.
