Love this dress on you. Sometime we just have to step outside the box and try new things in our style journey. You will look beautiful at your industry event.
Please try this dress with a jean jacket too. I loved to see how it translate casually.

So beautiful, Michelle!
I think this will be so fun to wear in so many different ways--to dressy occasions (as you've styled here) or to a fab lunch or another more casual setting with a light jacket/sweater and sandals.
It simply looks like it as made for you and I can't wait to see you style it!

I voted yes without hesitation. I think you are one of those lucky lasses that rock both straight and fit and flare dresses equally well. These are two very different silhouettes and I realise it's really a matter of personal taste, but I for one love how you look in both styles. This particular dress looks very elegant and the colours are so lovely. The neckline is very flattering (having it tailored a little might be the handiest solution, then you can go without a cami) and I think you'll love wearing it all through Spring and Summer. You can totally dress it up and down, very versatile. Can't wait to see more outfits with this!

Lot's of great advice here, just adding another you look just lovely in this dress. I think it dresses up nicely with your silver accessories here and would also look great dressed down with ballet flats and a jean jacket too.

You're a knockout Michelle. This dress is amazing on you and the colors are cool like a cool summer breeze.
It looks like a couple of stitches at the opening will cure any gaping.
I would try a milky white clutch with this dress when you feel like mixing it up. The possibilities are endless.
Enjoy!

Wow, this is fabulous on you! Go to your function and have a great time!

Michelle: This is perfect. It is true; Angie definitely did it again. I hope you feel incredible in it.

Thank you all so much for your comments, ladies -- you've helped get me really excited about this dress, which is at the tailor's as I write this. I went first thing this morning to see if I could get it tweaked on time for Wednesday night, and we're in business! Steph, do you sew? Because you nailed the alteration that had to be done -- the seamstress is taking the shoulders up by somewhere between 0.5 and 1 inch. It was amazing to see the difference once she'd pinned the dress -- the neckline literally fell into position perfectly, with no bra exposure whatsoever, and the whole thing just felt like it fit better!

When I get it back on Tuesday evening, I'll post my proposed party outfit and a couple of more everyday combinations I've been toying with (no worries, Debbiek, both white and blue denim jackets figure in my plans).

Thanks again for everything, ladies!
