Harness belts? - YouLookFab Forum

I really want to get my hands on one of Audra Jean's harness belts. http://www.etsy.com/shop/AudraJean

I know I won't be able to carry off anything but the simplest belt in the shop which is the Jane Light harness, a very simple piece.

I'm just wondering what colour to get. My first two options are black and camel? I'm attaching pictures of both. A third colour I'm considering is a metallic bronze - I'm also attaching a picture of this colour but in a different harness style.

I have a lot black, red, grey and some brown in my wardrobe. Other colours that work well on me are orange and pink and warmish neutrals like cream and olive, which I also have in my closet although not as much as I would like. Based on this, which of the three colours would you suggest for me?

Of these three, I definitely like the metallic bronze one best. It's more interesting because of the shine, the other two are somehow lacking in comparison in my book. I'm not sure if that one would go best with your wardrobe though.

I think any of the colours would work but I think the metallic or the camel are my favourites, however, if you wear a lot of black as you say, then that might be the best choice for you. I don't particularly like the high contrast of the black with cream in #1, but worn with black, grey, or red it would probably look good. I also think the style generally would look best on someone who was not too busty!

I think, as Missvee points out, it's a question of contrast. Do you like high or low contrast? Once you decide on that, and look at the items in your closet with which you will wear this, you'll have your answer.

I like the harness belts a lot and have considered one myself.

missvee: I'm a 34D bust, so maybe this isn't the best belt choice for me?

Andrea: I usually wear black footwear and get the most use out of my black belts, so maybe black is the colour for me!

I love that obi belt Kirti - I think Rita (modgirl) has this one and it's one I've got sitting in my cart right now too.

I love that Obi belt too! I think you would be on the safe side with it, but it's definitely a whole different look.

I love this Obi style of belt and it would really accentuate your waist. But don't give up on the harness just yet - can you cobble something together from belts you have at home to see if you like the look on you?

Astrid: It would still be something new for me though, I'm not too much of a belter but I have a shapely waist so why not accentuate it and hide my tummy?
