Oh my goodness, I feel a little overwhelmed! Thank you, thank you for your kind wishes and this beautiful thread.
First of all, I humbly accept the crown of Casual Euro Chic and the duties, rights and privileges thereof. Angie, any compliment from me was heartfelt, and I am happy if I can make you smile sometimes :o)
Krishnidoux, happy birthday to you too! I hope that you had a wonderful day and all the best for the coming year.
Jonesy, Mr. Scarlet wanted to read this thread too. He was like, what is Miu Miu (badly mispronounced) what is a surrender-the-waistline dress? Once I translated these into his language (you know, the one you call my choir dress, dear) he understood. I also have an extensive series of “duck shoes” according to him. I think “duck shoes” started out as a negative way to describe a new style he wasn't too sure about, but somewhere along the way, as his eye adjusted, has become a positive adjective to describe, I think, any shoe he likes. Ah, YLFers and the SOs who love them.
GirlX, I would say you have your bases covered to visit Germany. They seem to take birthday wishing very seriously here. Seriously! It’s very important to congratulate people on their birthday with a firm handshake :o) And of course sausage is one of the main things to eat. Sausage and beer. Just add “bier” onto the end of your sausage order so you don’t wind up thirsty.
I did indeed have a beautiful day, one of the best in memory. I will have to come back to tell you more and to show off all my loot!
