I've had wonderful birthday weekend and this thread rounds it all up in the nicest possible way. I'll be returning to it many times, certain it will never fail to make me smile.
As I head towards the fortieth birthday, I'd like to tell you all once more what vital roles you've played in the process of befriending me with my wardrobe through your comments, suggestions, kindness and above all understanding.
When I was still young, impressionable little girl, I had come across the sentence that by her thirties every woman should know what suited her best. It stuck with me and caused a lot of angst, enhanced by the constant struggle to find suitably long clothes to start with, let alone knowing how to put together the outfits to look the way I wanted. I was well into my thirties and still felt overwhelmed by the dos and don’ts, rules and fashion (mis)directions, uncertain where to start, until I stumbled across this place and slowly begun the fun, playful journey of making my wardrobe work for me. Although I now believe that there is no age limit in learning about one's style, I myself had caught that last train that little girl had heard of
This birthday was extra fab and then some more, thanks to you. I cannot resist the pun that this thread was cherry on the cake – I have actually made Black Forrest Cake and crammed it with cherries so much there were none left to decorate the cake from the outside.
