Happy Birthday Inge - I hope you had a wonderful day of celebration and fun yesterday! I also wanted to thank you for being such a stylish and extraordinarily encouraging person - I really appreciate your posts here at YLF.

You remind me of a coach of some kind and also an editor/writer at a fashion magazine. I've often thought there should be a "Dear Inge" column here at YLF or in the style pages of a fab newspaper or magazine. Whenever someone has a dilemma in terms of finding a particular outfit or item, you come up with the *best* suggestions, and lots of them! I don't know how you do it, but I'm betting it is a combination of your great eye and the fact that you're a very good listener.

When someone's looking for specific characteristics, you're the one who finds those needles in the haystack - and they are real gems, not needles, if that makes sense. There is a fairy godmother quality in your responses - someone's wishing for something that they can't find or doesn't seem to exist, and you wave a magic wand and voila! A pile of suggestions that are just perfect.

So much fun I get great ideas from your responses to everyone. Thank you for being so generous, smart and encouraging.

I had a brilliant day with fantastic prezzies, yummy treats (you saw the hot chocolate, and I had an amazing raspberry almond tartlet for dessert). The YSL exhibit was small but definitely worthwhile. My favourites were the Mondrian and pop art dresses. Very simple, amazingly well made with heavy fabrics with gorgeous drape. Monsieur Yves was extremely talented.

P.S. Velvetychocolate: I am still smiling today about your fairy godmother comment. If only I could find a way to actually deliver all the coveted goodies on your doorsteps...
