Thank you again, all!
Beth Ann, I have always avoided leather jackets because I remember leather coats of old being stiff and not terribly insulating and just plain unfab. It doesn't help that my father actually had a penchant for cheap leather! He wore it himself (the succession of awful leather coats coming through the door in his lifetime made my mother groan.) And he also bought ME a leather coat when I was the ripe old age of 12. It was a hideous colour for me (sort of olive-tan), very stiff, completely unhelpful in terms of warmth, and an all round awful winter coat experience!!
So I was very hesitant to jump on the leather indoor (or outdoor) jacket bandwagon.
This one has changed my perceptions completely. It is soft like the best glove leather, and molds to one's body. The more you wear it, the more comfortable it feels. It's breathable (although lined, the lining also breathes some) and it has knit insets in the sleeves which means that the arms can move very freely even with snug sleeves. I just love it, and like Shannon, I think I may wear it to the exclusion of lots of other jackets now!
