I have been looking for a nice matching set of petite wooden hangers for the closets back home. I plan to have them ship while we drive across the country so they are there when we arrive and I can hang my stuff up on them upon arrival. No need to find room for them in the back of the truck if I don't have to!
My basic dilemma is this - one set of hangers is 1/16 of an inch thinner than another, but it is also more expensive. The thinner are $66 for a set of 60 vs $58 for a set of 100 for the regular width! I probably don't need the full 100. I am assuming I have either 3 1/2 or 4 feet of closet rod in my closet. It's 4 jean and sweater stacks on the shelf wide lol. After some math, I realize that going from my plastic tubular hangers to the thin 3/8" wood hangers will take up 3 3/4" more hanging space per 60 hangers. If I go to the regular 7/16" hangers, I lose 7 1/2" per 60 hangers.
So what would you value more - the space itself or the money saved by going for the bulk larger hanger? (I do have a coat closet that is about 3' wide that I could use another 20 of the hangers in if I did go for the budget 100 set - that would leave 20 random extras for breakage or whatever)
I can't believe I'm so torn between saving space and saving money!!
