Of course, Anchie. The ordering process is quite simple, you just choose your country and currency, and prices in euro (or other currency) will be shown with each item.
Order fulfilment is via Borderfree, during the checkout process you get the following options:
- standard shipping with shipping costs, taxes and duties paid upfront
- standard shipping without the costs (in Belgium you then have to pay them upon receipt of the packages)
- express shipping with shipping costs, taxes and duties paid upfront
- express shipping without the costs (in Belgium you then have to pay them upon receipt of the packages).
Shipping is usually pretty quick (a little slower during NAS, understandably), but it can take a while for the packages to arrive, at least in Belgium. (With standard shipping, I'd say anything between 14 and 25 days.) Packages have always arrived in good shape, and Nordstrom is quick to answer any questions or address concerns. So I wouldn't worry about that part.
The exchange rate against the euro is pretty reasonable at the moment, so in that respect buying at the NAS is a good deal. However, shipping is quite expensive, and duties and taxes even more so.*
If you want to know how much the total cost will be, you can always add the items you like to your cart and go through the first steps of the checkout process. Before paying and confirming your order, you will get a page that details all the costs. You can then decide whether or not to go through with it.
* That's where we come to the "is it worth it" question. I'd say it depends, and it's totally personal, of course. I use the NAS to get a few (higher-end) items that I know I would never find locally (e.g. coats with great length in more vibrant colours are usually hard to come by in my neck of the woods). If I can buy these at the sales price and then factor in the rather high shipping cost and taxes, it usually comes down to me paying full price, if that makes sense. But exactly because I won't find the item in Belgium, I am willing to do that (after all, I would also be paying full price on a Winter coat from the new collection here). So even though I'm not getting the same excellent deal as US shoppers, it is worth it to me for carefully chosen items.
I hope this helps, and do shout if I can answer any extra questions.
