or in other words, how many appliances and products can gryffin buy to elinimate frizz...

I put a thread on the anniversary sale about the drybar reserve 3 in 1 hot brush. As hair keeps coming up, I thought I would post and ask others to add on appliances they found helpful, paricularly in achieving smooth frizz free hair.

Back story, I stopped coloring my hair at the start of the pandemic. I'm about 15-20% silver and my hair is naturally fine with a wave but the grays are curlier and frizzier. I now own a lot of products and egregiously expensive appliances so I thought I would share in case it would be helpful.

Products:
Prior while coloring I was a big fan of Davines Love shampoo and conditioner. My natural hair did not like it and I am transitioning to organic products acrosss the board. For fine hair I highly recommend Innersense products - for fine hair below. Work well very pleased. Well rated on safety EWG.org

Dryers and tools:
GHD Flat iron - I like this very much. Hot but not too hot. But my hairdresser really cautioned against regular use so special ocassion and touch ups only and dry hair only
GHD Brush - would not buy again. The rubber bristles have zero grip on hair. Does the job but have trouble getting ends smooth. On dry hair only. Good for touch ups only. I'll probably donate.
Dyson airwrap - great for waves (which I usually don't want) really good dryer but small and does not have concentrator. The brushes do not work well because of the smooth and wide bristles. Much less frizz, was really loving the feel of my hair but I could not get it to style glass smooth...
Dryson dryer - best hair dryer ever Fast, powerful, does not scorch hair, less frizz, nice concentrator but in summer with humidity just wasn't getting the smooth I wanted despite products. I've had the T3 and loved the sedu revolution (which is also a professional dryer) but I still think the dyson dryer is the bomb. But it was not getting the frizz out.
Drybar Reserve 3 in 1 - I had see that the drybar single shot was on sale during NAS, since I wanted a smoother blow out I saw a lot of great reviews on the reserve as the attachments are changable - dryer, paddle brush and oval single shot size brush. Although I paid full price, I thought the quality, adjustability, heat control was not only excellent but it made my hair feel like silk. Even my husband complimented me on my hair, before he knew I used something new. I absolutely highly recommend it. I did though see drybar offer a 1/2 shot. My hair is jaw length front and wedged up in the back, a classic inverted bob with bangs. So I really wanted to try the ....
Drybar1/2 shot because the reserve single shot head feels big although it does a great job. Well it just came and the 1/2 shot is a totally inferior animal. The controls are cheap, the brush is cheap, the bristles started frizzing and my hair was frizzier and less smooth. Boxed it right back up. If you are going to drop cash the reserve is much more quality and 3 tools in one.

Please add any products or tools you have been sucessful with. These things are so spendy hopefully we can streamline the process and save each other some cash on the epic fails!! Yours in frizz...
