i guess this style might work for your hair
do centre partitioning. then take few hair just next to the partitioning one .divide them into two and then criss-cross half way back and then pin it with bobby pins. do the same on the opposite side.
this way your hair will remain in place and you can flaunt your waves out

Regarding product, I think it’s very individual what works and doesn’t. I’ve tried products that others love but they just don’t work for me. I currently use a mousse or “air dry cream” by OGX. They seem to work well for me but I do find that my hair is unpredictable. And I liked LUS hair gel but it didn’t hold the curl for me. Yours looks curlier than mine so maybe that wouldn’t be an issue.

I also don’t wash every day but I do totally wet it in the shower every morning and style. If I don’t it feels flat all day.
