You are all so funny, sweet, and kind. Smittie, I feel like I've died and gone to heaven, to be compared to the incomparable Michelle Obama, and JOY, you win the prize for the best YLF poem of the year. I am honoured, delighted, amused, and thrilled!!
Also, Mr. Suz is in stitches listening to you all. (Of course I had to read your comments to him out loud.)
The short version -- it was an incredibly fun and instructive experience shopping in person with Angie!
Lynette, you are so right! WOW, does she know know her business! There is no messing around at all. Talk about efficient. But completely relaxed and unrushed. I felt utterly spoiled.
I have met Angie in person once before in 2012 for the Boston meet up, but not since. And of course we had a big group with us that time so didn't really get much one-on-one. (Made up for that, though, with the pure delight of shopping with the likes of Sveta, Tanya, Diana, Janet, Karie, Viva, Isabel, Jeanne, and many more -- apologies if I don't name you here now -- not meaning to slight a soul because we were a wonderful group!
Anyway, Angie and I picked up the conversation as if we'd seen each other yesterday. She is every bit as effervescent, observant, organized, intuitive, and vibrant in person as on the forum. And then some.
Another thrill -- I got to meet her morning clients -- (the amazing Karen and Brigette) and also finally met Annagybe in person!! (She was wearing the BEST SNEAKERS EVER.)
I will post all the pics tomorrow. We tried to document it all, although at one point we got a bit carried away and forgot to photograph the items fitted on. But I promise to fill you in with stylings when I get home even if we didn't get a picture now.
I will post the haul and the photos we did get tomorrow. But briefly:
1. This is a great sale for coats and jackets. If you are in the market for these, or even if you're not or think you're not, but live in a climate where you wear a lot of them, do consider one or more.
2. This is a really good sale for jeans. While I often go into the sale hoping for a denim upgrade, I didn't really expect or hope to find that this year. Well, guess what? I got a denim upgrade anyway, and LOVE what I got. A nice change from skinnies.
3. I didn't pay serious attention to knitwear because I can usually find the equivalent elsewhere at the sale price point. But if you need knits, there were some cute inexpensive options. I didn't view the pricier stuff.
4. There is some terrific footwear at this sale. Really interesting AND practical options. Sneakers galore but also great boots and booties. Some beautiful flats for those who can wear them and sandal booties for those who live in warmer drier climates. Also sandals.
Okay. More tomorrow!
