I just love reading your posts and would love to meet you in person. The hair is great (weren't you freaking out a bit at the lightened stage?). And weren't you worried not long ago about your wardrobe being too boring? If it is (which I highly doubt) this should take the boring right out.
Rachy, pastels are not for me either. With the grey grown out I didn't need to lighten (I avoid bleach, etc.), and the color took really well. My green is a bright emerald and the blue is pretty saturated in the sunlight too. I think it's more flattering on dark hair and skin than pastels.
Oh, I had a total freak at the middle stage! Lol. That gold...no no no! I was at first like, are you sure anything is happening? And then I was all, omg that green better take! Haha!
ps: Il est bon, Bernard, tu aime la mode. Merci Je veux ĂȘtre Swiss Miss, oui, lol!
Best shade of green for hair. When I saw your title I immediately thought about a movie I'd seen as a very little girl about a boy whose hair turned green one day. When I looked for it years ago, I couldn't find it, but now the 'net is so much better. I did remember that the boy actor's name was Dean Stockwell! Enjoy your hair--I'll be interested to see how you like it over time.
What a fascinating movie, Maven. Yes, we'll have to see over time. Altho, I'm not sure green hair is "likable" if you know what I mean. Haha. I admit that. It's entertainment
So what do you do to take care of the color? Is there a special shampoo or any care instructions you have to follow? Stay out of chlorinated pools, maybe?
I think I sort of totally love this. It really looks great! The last time I dyed my hair crazy colours was in the 1980's, so this may not be true anymore, but at that time, colours that were not "natural" came out much faster than those that were. Red dyes of any sort were the exception, though they could discolour fast and lose their original shade.
Una and rachylou, please let me know if this is still the case. Do "unnatural" colours fade faster and require touch-ups more often than natural hair colours?
I got a shampoo for colour and won't wash my hair like every day, which I avoid anyways. Same conditioner. I'm planning touch ups two months out. I went the gentlest route possible, so that's one of the reasons for 8 weeks. Otherwise, I was cutting my hair every 12...oh and washing with cool water...
Oh....I wanted to say: the waist bag is actually a Target shoulder purse and I'm knocking myself for not buying two...they seem to have done away with this style
I'm glad you mentioned the waist bag--I love it! Totally works with your jeans and shirt.
I just don't think I'm RATE enough to pull it off,but man, it appeals to my practical side.
And of course hair works with the outfit too. I can also imagine it with the skirt you wore the other day.
