So the ceremony is at 3:30 pm and the reception at 6 pm. Both activities will be indoors. Is this dress appropriate for a formal dress code?

If yes, what accessories to make it more summer time appropriate instead of a fall look?

Pic below is how I've worn it in the past, but those metallic sandals are looking more worn now.

Also, does a formal dress code mean that I need to wear hosiery?

Would appreciate any and all suggestions. Thanks!

ETA: found earrings to add a bit of color and I think will go with silver or soft gold sandals.

Should I try to find a colorful clutch or will that lessen the formality?

most definitely. I love this dress and it's flowy swing! I would not wear hosiery. The silver is simple and elegant. I wouldn't jazz it up too much. Stay elegant. But if you want to branch out into color, there are red heels . . .

Totally appropriate. Silver, gold or other shimmery/sparkly accessories. I don't think hosiery is necessary.

Yes, this is a wonderful look on you, and definitely dressy. i wouldn’t wear hose for any reason in the summer. I don’t think it’s a requirement for a formal event, these days.

Looks great as is. No hose, and those sandals say summer to me. I would not ruin lines adding anything but silver wrist bling if you decide to stay with the silver compliment. Definitely head-turning!

Fantastic - I think it's a definite yes. I like it with the silver being that it's more formal than a color. Unless the color was metallic - rose gold, or pearl white comes to mind.

I think it is perfect as worn here but if you are in the market for new shoes you could go into a pastel, neutral or a bold colour. I really like the metallic though.

Well it depends upon how much you like clutches. I’m not super excited about them so I tend to have black or silver or gold so that I don’t have to think too hard about going with a particular dress. If you enjoy them, I’d go for that deep teal color that’s at the top dot on the earrings. I think it could work year round.

Gorgeous earrings! The toenail colour option sounds cheapest. I think for me though, I'd possibly be down a rabbit hole looking for cobalt sandals? Or matching a clutch to those earrings somehow.
