Hi Angie, I'm having trouble because I have conflicting imperatives.
1. I want my glasses to be on trend. I have a horror of being caught in frumpy, out of date frames!
2. I want my glasses to veer pretty rather than dramatic or quirky. I don't know if I can reconcile this with #1. I want them to flatter me but not wear me.
3. I have gone through my black frame stage and now want something softer like tortoise (but not an almost black tortoise), olive green, or bronze. I'm open to other colors if they're not startling on my face.
4. I like curves and diagonals, which cuts out all the square on trend frames.
So, my favorites? I really like the gray Alexander McQueen frames (#1 below), probably best, but I'm quite worried that they're too much--that they would wear me, and that I would tire of making the same dramatic statement day after day. The blue ones you liked (#2 below) are similar but I don't like them quite as much. The purple and green Alexander McQueen (#3 below) seem flattering and less dramatic, but I'd need a different color because the purple looks black, and do they cut me across the eyelid? I like the Balmain (#1 above) because they seem pretty, but they also seem unbalanced as though they take in too much of my cheeks--bottom heavy.
I'd even be willing to get two pairs, one more dramatic and one less, though I'm not sure what the less dramatic ones would look like. I'm afraid that if I go too dramatic I'll want to wear my old Kio Yamato glasses all the time (the ones you see in all my recent WIWs) and that would defeat the purpose.
But to answer your question, I love #1 below the best. (Thanks for asking )
