Glasses search part 2

Last week I tried on lots of glasses and took photos, and those that were good enough pictures have made it to this album

Becky, (re your comment) I did try on one that was nearly cat-eye, and had a nice pink and red 2 tone colour theme, but the photo didn't work out.

I feel like I am very much at the beginning of the search.

My DH has had a look at the pics, and he doesn't much like the rectangular look - the very look which was the recommendation of most people in my earlier thread!

Anne - I'm no expert. So take what I have to say for what it's worth, and I think it's not much. I think the rectangular glass look a little too boxy for your face. If they were just slightly more rounded I think they'd be better. Still kind of rectangular but with softer angles. Does that make sense? I like the style of the butterfly glasses best but I think you are right and will probably need to try some more options. None of these stood out to me as THE ONES.

I am in full agreement with Alecia. If I had to pick one it would be the butterfly pair, but I would love to see some more shapes on you. I think the rectangular shape makes your face appear more long and boxy. But I am not expert!

Agree with the other comments. I didn't *love* any of the ones pictured...they just don't do your pretty face justice, Anne. The butterfly was my fave of those pictured, probably because it was less rectangular. I'd try on some more. I did like the way the colored frames looked on you! Red especially, of course!

I like the tortoise ones the best although I agree you should keep looking. To me the tortoise color is the best for you but I'm not sure what to do about the shape.

I agree with what has already been said. The butterfly pair looks the best, but I think you can do better. I like the tortoise and the navy colors on you.

Anne, I think I was in NY when you posted the first specs thread. Sorry that I was unable to provide input. Thanks for posting these pics though. Pretty dress!

None of these specs are spot on. You are looking for a softer look. The frames are too thick and heavy. Also, you need a wider frame (across the eyes) to balance out your jaw-line. Rectangular does not work. Hubby is right! Try oval and cats eyes instead with thinner rimmed frames. Also, you don’t need to stick to plastic frames either. Try metal frames too. Does that make sense?

Tortoiseshell is the best colour for you, and a softened rectangle shape. Also, make sure they don't sit too high on your face (some of these appeared to), you may need ones that you can adjust the nose piece rather than an acetate frame which you can't.

Hi Ann,
I have a very similar face shape to yours and I have this pair: in cranberry.
The red actually brings out my blue eyes and it's not too harsh of a color for th e fair complexion.

I couldn't find a picture of the red on the web but you can see the frame shape. Everyone loves the frame on me. See if the store has Donna Karan DK1523 color:3206 and try it. I've had mine for over a year so they may not be around anymore.
I'll try to upload a picture of my glasses on me so that you can see.

I'm not sure either Anne. I like the butterfly ones. Also the red rectangle and the more rounded ones. Not sure why I'm being so indecisive - maybe because none of them are killers yet. Keep going

I found 2 more pictures, must have not loaded them the first time because the photo was a bit fuzzy

One is blue metal/plastic (not a very nice face from me I am afraid)
the other is the red/pink one

Hi Anne, in looking at your pictures it seems to me that you should be choosing from the warmer color spectrum. The blue frames stand out and wear you. IMO. A color that would make your eyes the star and showcase the pretty color would be nice. You have large eyes and these frames close in on you.
I feel like all of these choices are too heavy for you. I wonder if a frame that has a top but is frameless on the bottom would be nice?

You need a shape that lifts up your eyes and cheekbones. Many of these frames are causing your eyes to “droop". Hence my suggestions of the oval and cats eye frames. Can you go somewhere else to look?
