Thank you Angie and Christina F. Having a good strategy often saves time and money in the long run.
Texstyle, it sounds like you and I have similar needs and like to be as stylish as possible while remaining realistic and practical.
Thank you unfrumped. I am eager to get them and see if they fit and perform as I hope they will.
Hahaha, thanks Kathie. Swift and stylish!

Winter hasn’t arrived here yet, but those Bogs look interesting. My son has Muck boots, so I know how good they are.

Thanks, Cee!
Aquamarine, yeas, the Muck boots are know for being very warm and good on ice. I think they are hold up for years of wear, too!

Very nice purchases! I agree that coat variety is nice for our long winters (I am in Michigan so not quite as cold as Maine but close), especially when you need different ones for activities. The boots are super cute, I have always thought of them as rainboots but they must have a nice cushy lining? And good on ice? Interesting...

Robin F, yes Michigan and Maine both get very cold. Bogs does make rain boots and some of the styles are a lighter weight and are not as insulated. I have a pair of flowered ankle height Bogs that are for rain. The ones I just purchased are some of the warmest ones they make and the soles have much deeper treads for traction.

The -40 rated Bogs are fantastic! I'm on my second pair. My first were a gift from my mom almost a decade ago and I just replaced them last winter. Super warm but lightweight and flexible. Love that they're as good in slushy puddles and mud as they are in snow drifts. We are subject to epic freeze-thaw cycles, which means a mix of mud/snow/ ice for a good portion of the year. A pair of truly waterproof winter boots -- with no lacing to let in water -- is a must-have for me. I fI had to guess, I'd say that classic Bogs are the #1 boots for kids where I live. They are so easy to get on and off, and comfortable enough to run around in for long periods of time, which makes them perfect for playground use. My kiddo is on his third pair in as many Northeast winters.

I hope the black coat works perfectly out because the cream-coloured one is absolutely gorgeous! I'm rooting for duplication.

Thank you, LaPed! The coat is due to arrive on Monday and I am eager to see how the coat looks and works out. Everything you wrote about the Bog boots is true! I think you and I have very similar winters and a definite mud season. I had my first pair of Bogs for almost a dozen years. I really thought my other winter boots would suffice. I was so wrong! Another plus for the Bogs is that they fit well into my snowshoes!
