That Isabel Marant show was very compelling, wasn't it? I remember when I first saw it, I liked some of the pieces but I thought it might be veering into costume-y territory. But, as the shows wore on, and now since the Navajo/SW/Aztec influences are trickling down, largely thanks to this show and the Proenza Schouler show (and the ongoing Opening Ceremony/Pendleton collaboration, I think), I see it as a key trendsetter!

Anyway, the boots are fab! Are you wanting to go lower heel or higher?

I love the DVF stuff this season. She is showing a black leather fringe jacket with a cocktail dress. I want to try this, just not sure where or how I would put together an outfit like this... The boots are amazing. I like the purple DVF ones better than the white ones.

I should seriously consider the lower heel. I like to stomp around in my boots, plus they're smooth leather as opposed to suede. But the color on the DVF's is gorgeous.

I really loved lots of things from that Isabel Marant show when the fringe boots first debuted. I do love the look. I am not as crazy about the substitutes though. The free people is very busy at the knee. The DVF is gorgeous, but the heels are so high they are daunting to me--but that is me and not you.
