I think the bow might be removable. I just examined mine more closely and there are 2 stitches on each side of the knot, and then the knot is glued down, it looks like a thin glue, like super glue rather than something like hot glue. The stitches would be easy enough to snip off. You *might* be able to pull the knot off with little residue left on the shoe (I could peel it back easily enough to see the type of glue used). To me, it looks like the houndstooth pair are made of a tweedy fabric that might not show the glue remnants as readily as say, a patent would or treated metallic would. It's up to you if you want to try.
