Traffic on weekdays is horrendous lately. This weekend is the Garlic Festival--I'm not sure how far north the traffic backs up. Then there is the beach traffic and the Antiques Fair at Moss Landing, but that shouldn't affect the VF area too much. We try to stay home or local on summer weekends.
Last week I went to Stanford and VF. I had already made an online order. I wanted to check out a few items in person. I'm not too happy with the Stanford store right now. They seem to have a lot more of the higher priced items, but that may mean that it is more spread out. I found nothing there.
A few days later I went to VF--try to get there late morning so I can leave earlier in the afternoon on commuter days. This store seemed to have a lot more of the sales stuff. I did find most of the items I had wanted to check out and I bought a Paige sweater that wasn't on my list. I came home and ordered more stuff online.
You'd have to take a bus for the last lap to VF. No trains go near-by. Or Stanford either. And it's been close to 100° the last few days and the air is smokey from the Monterey fire.
If you do come to San Jose, let me know. I could pick you up at the train station and take you to VF and then give you a ride back to the train. I'm thinking Cal Train. The Light Rail goes to Campbell. Geez, what a mess.
Don't want to discourage you, but if you want to do VF, maybe I can make it easier.
