And another welcome from me You have already received some great advice so I don't really have anything new to add. This is a great place and with Angie's fabulous leadership, you will be sorted in no time!

P.S. I'm a 51 year old apple and have learned so much here in how to dress my body.

Another welcome. 50 is barely visible in my rear view mirror, but I can tell you that in many ways, the 40s and 50s were my best years, especially for fashion. Kids grown or almost grown and a little money to spend on oneself, still very active and able to exercise and garden without regretting it the next day.

There are lots of challenges with body changes, but that's why a forum like this can be so useful--sort of a corrective to what we imagine we are seeing in the mirror.

Welcome to the Fabulous Fifties. I have never felt so confident and happy as I am now, nor have I ever felt so comfortable in neon yellow jeans (last summer) red skinny jeans (this spring) or JCrew's Minnie Pant. I am 58. Why not try these things? Who is going to tell me I can't?

Yes, I already adhere to CocoLion's list of suggestions for the most part. After a year in Pilates, I did sport some shorter skirts this summer (about the length of bermunda shorts). I do tend to chose more covered than less, however!

I also give my daughters permission to comment on my style (just in case).

Have fun and thanks for bringing up a subject that is important to me...looking good after 50!

I had some great outfits when I was working, but then became a SAHM, and didn't put much effort into looking up to date. Now that I'm close to being an empty nester , I am looking forward to cleaning out my outdated closet.

Now that I'm at the stage where more sexy clothing would be inappropriate, I can look back and wish I had dressed more body consciously when I had that body.

I'm 42, but I must say this website has shown me that I don't have to dread ageing ( well not quite so much!) I see so many stylish women of all ages here! I'm keen to get older and better!

I am about to turn 59 and I'm transitioning from corporate office to casual startup. Being used to black pants and tops with a blazer, I struggle to find the right appropriate casual clothes for my 163cm (5 ft 4inch) short-waisted frame. I never wear heels but don't have a range of shoes for a casual office wear. It would be useful on this site to see outfits and looks tagged by body type. I like much of what I see but maybe I'm missing something. Can you search for looks by body type? Lots of good advice here so glad I found this site and eventually joined!
