I love the haircut.

But you look great :)! I know that doesn't really help that much. The challenge idea might. And maybe a sunlight lamp?

Thank you all for your thoughtful replies.
I am thinking about challenges, problem is I cannot really wear my office outfits at home because there is at least 5C temperatures difference between my office and home. So at home I don’t need warm layers and scarves which limits possibilities. I could probably wear lightweight cardigans over some thinner tops at home but I don’t have any - maybe that is a hole?
So today it is another simple outfit, but I will see over the weekend if I can think of something starting Monday. Even my online meetings are voice only, so I don’t have incentive to dress up for them.

You sound like you could need some spice in life, indeed. How about starting a TikTok or Instagram account? Your DD can help you out That way you can wear all your lovely outfits "out and about". Have you seen Msorrig on Instagram? Such a colorful and inspiring account, with long silver hair like you!

From the outside, you knocked it out of the park again. I hope you can get out & enjoy yourself this weekend so you feel good on the inside. Are pools open yet? It’s crazy chilly, but getting back in the water has done me a world of good. Maybe you & your daughter could go for a swim. Or dodge raindrops at an outdoor market?

Synne - putting myself out there would definitely challenge me to get dressed more interestingly, but I am too introverted for that. Even participating here is out of character for me, I am not very active on social networks.
FashIntern - I can swim only when outside temperature is above 30C, cannot really imagine it in this weather. Things here are opening, including restaurants, shops, hairdressers and swimming pools but they are only available to 3G (hope you know what that means - Germany I think has the same) so I would need to get tested before doing anything and it is valid for 48 hours only.

Love the new cut!!! And wow the specs are so gorgeous with your complexion!!! Sorry for the blah feeling, at least you have a colorfull wardrobe-so think you can have fun just wearing a sweater in a flattering springy happy color, like you did so well here!!!

Love your hair and glasses! I'm guessing that it's not the clothes that make you feel blah, but the weather and lack of variety in life right now! Come visit, it's warm here

Go visit Suntiger & get vaccinated! Honestly, I’m feeling a little guilty that I’m not doing more to take advantage of our vaccinated status here. Very often, things that are open require a recent test like you said, or proof of vaccination or having recovered from Covid. At 30 degrees, I have to get in the water—or in the AC. Living in Florida though, the water could be pretty unpleasant when it was 30 out. The daily high was around 33, and there were many nights it didn’t go below 20, or even 25. That meant the water would get ridiculously warm. It didn’t feel good to swim in. I’m going to guess that where you grew up, it gets warm on summer days, but cools off decently most nights? Anyway, with all the time you have to plan, you can have the most awesome little outings this summer—menu coordinated with outfits for the whole family or something

First of all, your hair and glasses are fantastic! The outfits you show are lovely, too. Like many have mentioned, your feelings are probably reflection on the whole pandemic situation. Maybe you can try wearing at home whatever you wear to the office when it is 5 or so degrees warmer outside? Another suggestion, would be to put together a nice "casual going for a walk outfit" and go for that walk outdoors whenever it is not raining? I have been doing that for the past two weeks, however the weather is much warmer here.

Ohh I think I misunderstood your original post - When you say "I cannot really wear my office outfits at home because there is at least 5C temperatures difference between my office and home. So at home I *don’t* need warm layers and scarves which limits possibilities." that means your home is *warmer* than the office, not colder, right?

In that case sorry, just disregard my previous advice - I thought you were asking how to have variety in *winter* outfits, lol! As for cooler outfits, I agree that lighter weight tops would help - any tank tops that you could wear under an open button-down shirt, for example? What about dresses or skirts? Or even rolling up lighter weight trousers at the ankles for some airflow? If you have any lighter weight scarves, they could be fun to drape too, no? Otherwise maybe choose just one accessory to wear with your outfit (doesn't have to be a scarf - I originally suggested nail polish because it doesn't get in the way of keyboard typing, unlike a bracelet or ring lol)

Anchie, bad weather and lockdowns and restrictions do make all of us feel blah. You look amazing and know that things are improving and slowly opening up. I hope you can get out and about soon. The feeling of being locked up is hard to overcome. I have been dressing up working from home because it makes me feel better. I have been reading more books and DH is using this time when we can’t travel or socialise as much to learn to speak Japanese.

You say boring, but I see minimal classic with a bold punch, perfectly fitting gorgeousness!!

That said - I totally get it - when the cold miserable weather drags on, it's just painful. And I am always ready to burn my puffer by the time spring comes! Hang in there; it can't last forever can it?!?!? And you've got such a beautiful outfit on deck for when milder weather emerges!!

Wow, I love the new hair and glasses! I understand what you mean by a temperature difference between home and office. In warm seasons I have that as well because we don’t blast our a/c. I continue to work from home the majority of the time, and even though many of my contacts are telephone, not video, I have found that I feel happier if I dress up so I feel like I am working. Why not wear a pretty top without adding the topper or scarf if your home is too warm? Also, there are ways to tie scarves so they are not right up against your neck…they don’t have to provide warmth. Maybe tie one around your head or non-dominant wrist to add some cheerful color/pattern? Personally, I like the outfits you showed, and do not think they are boring. I think all the time WFH has wreaked havoc on our psyches, and the only way to fix it will be with more interpersonal contact, whenever that can happen……even if you are an introvert….

Boy do l empathise with you.The weather has been grim here too and combined with new variants and not yet fully vaccinated it’s hard to remain enthusiastic about dressing isn’t it,l do think when the sun eventually comes out you will start to feel better.Just being able to sit a while outside lifts the spirits l find.Until then getting outside every day for a walk is very important even if you don’t feel like it and it’s raining.

Cardiff, even though it’s in your moniker, I somehow didn’t register where you are from until that comment about going out even if it’s raining. I recall a time when I’d submitted a journal article and the usual back-and-forth of reviews, rewrites, etc didn’t go super-smoothly. The editor, who was at Cardiff, apologized and said he’d been a bit befuddled recently because Marching Season had begun. The idea of political strife as a regularly recurring season really hit me. Is it ongoing this year, on top of Corona?

Anchie, I apologize for the thread Jack.

I hear you on the blahs, Anchie! Too much pandemic sameness... rarely leaving home for more than a year... WFH in nearly the same outfit on repeat. I have been trying to come up with an outfit challenge for myself, but no luck so far.

You sure look fab with the new hair and specs!
