You nailed it, Michelle. I don't mind what Chris Cornell sings about - I'll listen to it and love it anyway :0)

1982: Men Without Hats

We can go when we want to.
Night is young and so am I.
And we can dress real neat
from our hands to our feet
and surprise you with a victory cry.

1992: The B-52's: Hot Pants Explosion

Ooo scintillatin' sizzlin' steamin'
Honey those hot pants got me screamin'
Supercalifragiwhata outfit you got on
Super vixen ooo foxy
Studball hunky baby rock me
Supercalihalitosis ooo that outfit's the absolute mostest

Ooo I've seen London and I seen France
But I never saw nothin' so hot as you in your hot pants

Angie, no dark songs about clothes? Some of the ones that April posted are pretty dark. Of course, whether you like them or not is another story.

Hooray for the Custard love from Yublocka and Mae! They really are a fun band.

I found another one that YLF ladies might like: "String of Pearls" by Deborah Conway. She's an Australian singer-songwriter who used to be in Do-Re-Mi but works solo now.

"Some wear their heart on their sleeve,
some wear the patience of saints,
some wear the weight of the world on their shoulders,
I just wear my string of pearls"

It's about the advice given to her by her grandmother, and valuing the bad experiences in your life for making you stronger.

The girls were watching The Simpsons tonight (yep, totally valuable tv experience there LOL) and Lisa was singing a song that went:

"I'm not cool
I don't wear jeans"

Made me giggle because its the first song I've heard since this thread started (besides lady in red on the radio the other day), that had any reference to fashion that I've been able to discern!

Tori Amos:

The power of orange knickers
Under my petticoat
The power of listening to what you don't want me to know...
