Those mink suede loafers are delicious! Definitely, definitely buy those.

Second favorites are the pewter loafers, then the silver loafers.
The booties are adorable with your skinnies. Love them too.

Something about the vamp on the brown loafer, makes them less appealing to me, but they look like they would take you a million places and probably go with everything. They also would bookend your hair very nicely, I think.

Clogs drive me bonkers because of the pantleg grabbing problem. Those are cute ones though.

The pointy ones in 1/2, do they stick out a lot because of the pointiness? If not, I would definitely get them. If so, I would worry about them being a tripping hazard.

I would not buy non leather shoes that I planned to wear a lot. I want my feet to be able to breathe.

I love the Pikolinos.

I'm not sure what you think is weird about the pewter shoes. I like them.

I second the mink suede loafer.....they are my favourite. They look smart and fashionable and I love the colour.

I like the pewter but not sure that the colour is showing clearly on my screen. Seriously comfortable sounds like a winner.

I would disregard these ankle boots if they are not a work option. How about more of a Chelsea boot style?

I like the pewter and brown loafers the best. I love the Pikolinos on you as well. So fun. I think I prefer a higher vamp with the pants your are showing.

I LOVE the pewter ones - nice shape and colour- so I'd say keep those for sure.
The Pikolinos are good too but perhaps not versatile enough if you'll wear them only with skinny jeans. I think they'd look ok with skirts too but you do have to make peace with the gap.
The silver loafers look a bit wide, but the colour is great.
I have a poison eye for clogs so best say nothing about them :-).

mink suede loafers are my fave. great color, very on trend shape. the pointy toe balances out a wider leg and decreases stumpifying effects.

pikolinos are strong contenders. surprisingly versatile with different hem lengths and pant leg shapes.

Yes, it was love at first sight with the mink suede loafers. I will order a half size up to see if that fixes the tightness on the right foot.

Zibbets, I agree with you on the brown ones. I feel like they have so much potential, but the vamp length throws me off.

JAileen, the pewter shoes are just a whole lot of shoe for me...a full vamp in a shoe is not something I've ever done before. So glad you like them!

Kiwigal, I had to google Chelsea boots! The ones I saw didn't have zippers. Is that standard for the style? I have to have a zipper because my arthritic joint won't let my foot bend without severe pain to get into booties.

Seriously, they look great. I also like the pewter, especially when "seriously comfortable" gets added to the mix. I wasn't sure what you found odd about them, either. They look good with pants.

I agree with those who say that the lower vamp ones look a bit odd with the pants somehow. It might just be a geographical quirk. It is not something you see around my parts much. (We are all wearing booties and boots by late September, you know? Have to cover up all skin or we freeze.)

I like the Pickolinos -- are they the ones Alana was considering/ bought? But they are a bit out of your style zone -- more arty/ funky vs. classic? Still, they look really good in these shots.

A chelsea boot has an elastic gore. It stretches. I don't know if that means you can't get it on. But a bootie like the Sam Edelman Petty has a similar to chelsea look, with a zipper. (A bit of a westernized chelsea, but still....)

Thanks, Kellygirl. A higher vamp is totally new to me. I don't know whether it's regional as Suz suggested or whether I'm just so far behind the times. I will have to focus on people's shoes in Atlanta this Fall.

Missvee, I'm happy the pewter ones are getting the thumbs up. They really are comfy. I'm ok with the Pikolinos only working for non-work times. Work shoes are my first priority, but I will need casual shoes too, so I don't mind getting them when I see them.

Suz, the Pikolinos are the short versions of the ones Alana tried. And you are right, they are out of my "polished" style zone. However, less polished but still conservative feels fine to me in my casual wardrobe. I will definitely look at the Pettys!

I have the Luxury Rebels in pewter. They look like men's slippers with the long high vamp, but I don't care because they are really comfortable and I wear them with everything - skirts and pants. They have been a surprisingly versatile workhorse and I just act like they are JFE.

I was going to suggest the Pettys as well! I have Chelsea boots from JCrew (very soft leather with an elastic gore but no zipper) and Pettys. Both are very comfortable.

Suede loafers look great. I also like the shape of the brown loafers - maybe not so much the color - but if the color works with your wardrobe, all the better.

I really like the Mink loafers the best.

A few thoughts. I think the reason these work so well is that they are quite dressy and refined. The pointed toe does that.

There is also a fab brand Anna recommends diestpo or something like that. I tried searching for it in the YLF archives, but no luck. They do amazing smoking slippers, and Anna says they are super comfy.

Thistle, I totally agree with your thoughts on why the mink loafers work so well. I think the toe shapeis why I liked pumps with my jeans so much. That's the shape and the level of refinement I need. Also, I love the loafers Anna recommends! I think dieppa-restrepo are the ones you're recalling? Just a wee bit more than I hope to spend, but I have been keeping an eye out for a sale on my colors.

Absolutely loving the mink. Glad you're going to order those in the next size up.

As for the rest, I probably like the pewter, the silver, and the brown about equally well, although I don't love any of them nearly as much as the mink. The clogs feel to me like they are too heavy for your usual style, especially for work. The booties I think look good with skinnies, but as Kiwigal pointed out, if you really want booties for work, I think it may be best to keep looking.

On the silver loafers, I don't know if they will stretch. My local cobbler told me that sometimes synthetics will stretch, sometimes not. If they do stretch, it's not as much as real leather. Also, if you live where it's humid, do you think the synthetic material will make your feet sweat?

Do you like these for another loafer option? (I've not tried them myself.)

Gigi, how funny! I just ordered those Cole Haan shoes about 10 minutes ago! Good point on the silver loafers. I'm thinking they may be ok for wet weather days...so I can still look decent but not care about ruining good shoes. We'll see.

Ah this is tough. The Pikolinos look great and I actually really like the last pair of brown loafers. They are simple but have a nice shape. I didn't like the pair in #10 as much, but it is hard to say without seeing the whole outfit. Definitely a lot of potential in this selection and I am not much help at all!

If you can get a comfortable pair of 1/2 and 10/11, I vote one or both pair. I also really like 3/4 if they are not too heavy looking for your area. You might also look for a great pair of leopard or snake flats to add some pizzaz to an outfit. If booties are hard to get to work well, you might try shooties (more shoe-like) with a very small heel. You might study Transcona Shannon's footwear for ideas.

Shevia and Debbie, interesting that you both really like the brown pair. I love how they look from the side and the front. It's the view from above that I'm not quite sure about. Hopefully my eye will adjust, because I really like everything else about them.

Great idea, Joy. I'll look for shoeties. Also totally agree on the usefulness of animal print shoes. I have a couple loafers in leopard and one in zebra.

The mink loafers are my favorites too! Agree with Thistle that the pointed toe makes them look dressy enough to really elevate an outfit. I think my second favorite for you are the silver because their shape also gives them enough of that refinement and classic feel. The Cole Haan ones Gigi linked to seem like they'd do that as well.

I do think the rest of the loafers and the pair of clogs work as well, but I feel like they'd be more background players, if that makes sense. Like they wouldn't detract from an outfit, but they also wouldn't be the thing that takes it to the next level. And, especially for someone who has comfort issues, I can see where it would be worth it to have a few reliable pairs like that.

I like the booties too for casual outfits.
