Brooklyn, I just looked up Australian birds of prey and was surprised that we have several birds in common: Peregrine Falcon, Osprey, and Barn Owl.
Ms B would no doubt enjoy the company, but a small dog does seem to be at risk. Bob Barker (not his real name) weighs 15 pounds, and a Coopers Hawk weighs 1.5. The larger birds can take larger prey, obviously. Osprey weigh up to 4.5 pounds, and can take a fish weighing the same. The Wedge Tailed Eagle weighs up to 12 pounds. Per Wikipedia, their diet includes small kangaroos!
