Shannon - my hair is actually quite wavy when it gets longer (curly in high humidity); it's only because of how short and how close it is cut that it looks straight. At this length, I think it will be a breeze to style; as it gets longer, its split curly-straight personality drives me batty.

Suz - thanks so much for the boost on my thread the other day! I do think this is the right decision for me, right now, and growing my hair is a project for another time. I'm intrigued about your haircut and how it was a style turning point. I have to say, mine is starting to feel a little bit like it might be for me...partly because I think I might choose to keep this short for a LONG time.
Claire - my hair is actually pretty thick and coarse; my hair stylist thinned so much of it out, that there was a carpet of hair at my feet when it was done. My head feels SO much lighter.
Vicki - Yes! I am a runner and it is freeing...kind of like this haircut, actually
