I decided to buy the dress, since it was on a limited sale and also selling out. Tags still on though. Here's a better pic.

Looks even better at home! I think it is a great choice.

Oh very nice! Will it do both work and wedding?

You did it! When I first saw the title of your post, I thought you were joking, but you really have found a dress that works for work and a wedding. And it looks great on you too!

You look STUNNING in that dress! And it can cross over from work to wedding. Impressive!!

Thanks Bella, Jenni, Fashiontern and Harmonica.
Jenni, I think it will. A girl at work and DH both think so.
But I am not cutting the tags yet so, any of you, feel free to comment against it!

LOVE the very first dress you posted, Anne. SOOO glad you got it (couldn't differentiate between the sizes in the pics, but am sure you made the right decision).

KILLER to the Power of KILLER. The length is so chic and elegant. WOW.

LOVE THIS DRESS ON YOU SOOO MUCH. WINNER!

Wow!! So pleased to hear K to the power of K!

Your best outfit EVER on YLF, Anne - all of 11 years of it.

Wow. High praise indeed. Thanks so much Angie.
Do you know something? I actually enjoyed these little shopping expeditions of the last two days. I haven't felt like that for ages!

I love it, Anne! Looks stunning on you, and I think it will definitely work for both work and wedding.

That makes things EXTRA Fab, Anne. All good things come to those who wait. Much love to you, sweet lady. You were our FIRST blogger from Oz, and stayed with us all these years. It's touching.

You look sensational in the dress!

So glad to see that you got the perfect dress. This looks amazing on you! A K to the power of K, it don't get any better than that! I think it looks even better at home than at the store. I also liked the Cue dress for work if you do need 2 dresses....

Perfection by itself and great with a wide variety of accessories, toppers and shoes.

Fantastic dress - so glad you went with your first choice, it looks perfect on you and perfect for your needs!

Oh wow! Drop dead gorgeous!

The dress looks fantastic—perfect fit. I was going to pop in to suggest the J. Crew Origami dress—if you could find it on eBay—but even under the best or circumstances, I can’t imagine it looking better than this.

Thanks so much all of you for commenting!

Angie - you are so sweet (and I was thinking "I'm not a blogger" and then I realised I have a YLF blog - so I am! Thanks to you and Greg) My pleasure (and benefit) sticking with you for sure.
I do have a few tiny niggles with the dress 1) it is black near my face which I've been trying to avoid 2) the floral colours are warm not cool 3) the zip curves a little, probably because of my mild scoliosis. But I'm willing to be persuaded on this points if this is indeed my best outfit in 11 years!!
Bijou - I did REALLY like the Cue dress. And you will appreciate the great the tailoring and quality of Cue dresses. Plus made in Australia, usually. Did you get one similar to this in the winter? I'll have to look at the budget!
Thanks GF - that's a sweet dress and would fit the work/ wedding brief. I can see it being a potential problem fitting with my long torso though.

Anne, I meant to say "Fabber" - but wrote blogger (needed more tea) - but you ARE a blogger, so it all worked out.

The florals temper the black close to your face, and the black cools down the florals. Sorted.

Yeah. Zippered styles are tricky. I'm reminding you that you don't need to do yoga in the dress. *smiling*

Hmm, now that you mention the zipper, it does seem surprising in an office dress. If your personality offline is anywhere near as measured and uplifting as your persona here, then you can pull it off.

I love the dress and it fits you perfectly!

Angie and Gill- thanks!
Fashiontern. I think I can pull it off in terms of office suitability.
Just conscious of my scoliosis.

Definitely no yoga in this. But I did test it and I can dance!

Loved the one you chose, Anne.

Perfect dress. Sophisticated but pretty. You look like a million in this! No contest with other dresses. Sooo glad you snagged it.
You should really think about more “ dark florals”. I find the combination of light and dark super helpful in looking more grown up but still having good glowy face colors like pinks and corals.

love the dress even better on you! Looks awesome and should be a very versatile. Great Choice!

You look stunning in that black floral dress, Anne. It’s perfect for the occasion. Looks work appropriate too. If your budget can take the hit, please buy that gray dress too. It is gorgeous on you!

I love the dress you have chosen, well done! Lots of praise from Angie (I would be glowing!). I am so pleased you enjoyed your shopping. Back to the dress, I really like the zip, it takes the edge off the sweetness and provides a modern take. The grey dress I though was also gorgeous and fitted really well.

Perfect dress! I think you look smashing. Couldn't be better.
