I was starting to post this last night when I hit a key and lost it all. Come to find out this morning that the BF's timeframe to leave work, and for us to move home, is even shorter than I'd though, so I'm really done.
No more shopping for me!

I was starting to realize how hard it is to plan and fill wardrobe holes for 30 degree temps while living in 80 degrees. I did get the awesome shearling jacket (thanks Rae!) but many many more buys were skirts and tanks. Summer wear.
So I came to my senses as I was boxing up the Yoox shirt for return. Unless the perfect red top falls into my lap, I am done for the year.
My most recent acquisitions were good ones to get me on the road to winter. I got the ikat jeans and long sleeved shirt dress from UO and they were perfect for cooler temps. BJ1111 recently sent me a big fuzzy sweater and I have the taupe suede skirt from Kat. I am set!

I was almost afraid to say it out loud, so as to jinx myself, but I'm comfortable in what I have. And if all goes well, and I'm back part time at my old Pub job, I will only be 'dressing' out of uniform 3 or 4 times a week anyway. Plenty of clothing to cover that

So I guess by extension, that means I am now on my one a month shopping plan for 2013 since I am done buying in 2012. What's 7 weeks anyway? That's Nothin'!!! (remind me of that when I get the urge lol)

I think that's probably a good plan. It is hard to buy for different climates when it's not in season. Well I'm sure you'll have fun picking your one item per month...that will make it more special that way.

Yay! It will be fun to be back home, in your lifestyle there, so you know exactly what you need for your 1 per month plan. Also... I'm selfishly really excited to see you break out some wintry outfits!

Sounds like a plan! Thank goodness you kept the shearling jacket, looks gorgeous on you, and the ikat jeans are fab too. And we already have snow in the Sierras so the novelty of cold weather dressing after months in Florida should keep you entertained through the end of the year.

You did better than I would. I can't even PACK for a different climate, I always bring too many warm things (pants and sweaters) to my Florida in April vacation from Canada...Good thing I can shop while I'm there! (and it's only about 3 months til I can wear what I buy again! LOL)

Thanks ladies, I'm thinking it will be enough to come home to my closet of untouched things.

Ha Kim! It was all I could do to only bring 4 pants, 4 long sleeved tops and 4 sweaters with me, knowing we would be driving back home in winter temps.

It feels good to leave it all alone for a bit. I have been trying to keep my eye on the big picture, but we all fall prey to getting accustomed to our surroundings.

if i remember correctly, your closet in tahoe is bigger than the traveling one. any plans to do a closet winnowing?

BJ, I am going to perhaps toss some 'iffy' summer stuff before I pack up. I actually pulled 4 tops last week. But I'm leaving all winter stuff alone for starters. Since I am going to be on the few and far between purchase plan, I don't want to run dry of basics to keep warm in As the season wears on, and I find fits off, or fabrics wearing out I will think of purging.

Sounds like a great plan. I find I have to shop in season otherwise my "new finds" end up as orphans.

I'm not caught up on things, but just checking - are you returning to Tahoe? I'd imagine you can save your fave summer things for the next warm season, at least....?
