caro - that's so interesting. I see clothes as *my paints.* Not as the pictures. Hmm. Food for thought!

That's interesting, Carter: when I had an office job I think I was the opposite of your scheme - repeater with work clothes and remixer with casual/weekend stuff. I think because I didn't own as much business wear so most things only went one or two ways, whereas a pair of jeans or a t-shirt is pretty flexible. Your approach makes a lot of sense for your life, though, especially with the meeting with clients.

Remember garanimals? Intellectually I appreciate those sorts of things but in real life sticking to something like that would get on my nerves.

I do repeat quite a lot. But I love to remix.

I think I do both. I think I'm a repeater at heart, But so many of my clothes 'go' with each other that it's very easy to remix. I'm working from a limited colour palette, which makes this easier.

Hmm, I go through stages of each. I have been repeating for a long time, but I have recently felt like remixing. Sometimes when you remix, you can create new outfits that become favorites for repeating.

Sharon, I used to be known by my friends for never wearing the same thing twice! And for some reason I felt that's what I should do.

Now I am in such a happy place with my wardrobe that I just want to wear things over and over. I do remix sometimes but don't feel the need to. If I do remix, it's more about my creative expression than 'needing' to wear something different all the time.

Definitely a repeater. Especially during weekdays, when I don't want to spend a lot of time on my outfits. I might experiment a little when I buy something new, or on the weekend, so that I have an extra outfit that can easily be repeated during the week...

I am mostly a remixer, but like Susie, I'm not sure how noticeable it is, I tend to like similar kinds of items with subtle differences (grey cardigans, black jackets, dark wash jeans). I don't think of my clothes in particular outfits, though I'm aware of pieces that work well in certain combinations. Even if I was wearing the same outfit more than once, I might not notice.

i repeat the same silhouette all the time ….but i mix up the pieces quite often.

Fun question! Since YLF, I'm more of a remixer thsn repeater, although the remixing is often subtle (i.e. same skirt with different cardigan; necklace instead of scarf; different footwear). I don't buy items now unless I can think of at least three or four ways to style them. It's a fun challenge for me to try to style new items as many ways as I can think of!

I may make a distinction between some typical mix and match vs hardcore re- mixing.

I got a few sweaters that I think work with lots if bottoms- skirts and pants-- so I'm wearing them with several, not just pairing exact top+ bottom.

But Angie's gold jeans outfit-- THAT to me is genius re- mixing. A whole different vibe from the items themselves , and unexpected.

I do both. If an outfit really worked well, or if it's the clear way to wear a particular non-versatile item, I'll repeat it a bunch. But I also do lots of remixes.

Since a lot of my clothes are in a fairly limited range of colors and silhouettes, I think remixes are especially easy for me. It doesn't really take much creativity to decide that, say, a particular dress would work with a gray cardigan, heeled black booties, and dangling black earrings instead of a black cardigan, tall, flat black boots, and black studs.

I am generally a remixer, although like Carter I am more likely to repeat my casual wear, partly because I don't see the same people on the weekends so a repeat doesn't matter. (Not that it matters anyway, I realize. )

Lately, though, I have been preoccupied with other things so I've been wearing more repeats. It's nice to have the option when things get busy!

I'm also a bit of both. At work, I tend to be a remixer. I think this is because I have a huge work wardrobe (not necessarily a good thing) so it's easy... often it's not on purpose, it just happens. When I look back in my stylebook outfits I am sometimes surprised at what I see "I wore that?" When I look at my stylebook stats... rarely am I wearing an outfit more than once or twice. That being said... if I try a piece several ways and some are more successful than others, I do tend tend to think about repeating. I really should pay MORE attention to the successes, really... that just takes effort I don't seem to be able to muster.

My weekend/evening casual outfits are more likely to be repeated. Because I've honed in on the comfy ones

I'm a repeater (when I can remember the outfit 'recipe'), but I'm also a tweaker (not a twerker!!). The main components will stay the same, but I might wonder about about a different handbag, or belt and give it a bash.

Repeat, with a strong shopping urge to replicate. If something really works, well, lets go find similar somethings. Or buy the exact thing in another color.

Lol, merwoman. You're missing out on being big buds with Miley...

...clean up your minds, marshmallow peeps! There are no drug references there... hehe

Bwahahaha!!! So relieved, merwoman!

rachylou you are so cheeky!

I occasionally repeat outfits. Often I attempt a 'repeat outfit' and end up with something completely different!!! And clothes and shoes all over the boudoir......!!!!!

For example, I remember that the top is in the wash so I choose something in a similar style, then I might decide that the shoes aren't right for the occasion which means I swap out the skirt/pants for a different length, and then I change the handbag/clutch......... (shakes head.....)

Repeater. My creative energies are expended elsewhere.

Anyone who expects variety in my appearance (or even notices: I'm talking to you, earnest little HR ladyette) has too little going on in their own lives. Or hasn't lived through much yet.

My hairdresser has free rein, so cut and color do get changed up. She'd love to see me "do more with what I have" but I'm not on display the way she is.
