I have up to 18, depending on how you define things like "low heeled dress shoe". And so many of these things don't work for me. Why leopard? Why camel? Who's the target of this list?
Huh. I have 31 if you count the maybe/unclears. I would have guessed a lot lower.
1. silk blouse (Y) 2. dress shirt (N) 3. tuxedo shirt (N) 4. wrap dress (Y, but I don't think it's what they're thinking of - mine is a lace allsaints LBD) 5. black dress (Y) 6. biker jacket (Y) 7. jean jacket (Y) 8. skimmer (Y, I only have some slipper flats but don't wear them much.) 9. single strap stiletto (N) 10. pump (N) 11. satin stiletto (N) 12. leopard heel (N) 13. mule (N) 14. rain boot (N) 15. OTK boot (N) 16. utility boot (Y) 17. classic shades (Y, if jackie O style ones count?) 18. cat eye shades (N but I'd like some) 19. pearl earring (N, no earrings at all!) 20. low heeled dress shoe (Y) 21. mod boot (Y) 22. sneaker (Y) 23. oxford (Y) 24. shoulder bag (Y) 25. backpack (Y) 26. day to night bag (Y) 27. tiny bag (maybe? I have a feeling my idea of "tiny" is bigger than most people's) 28. silk scarf (Y) 29. side slit pencil skirt (N) 30. mini (Y, but again probably not as mini as some people might think) 31. cashmere sweater (Y) 32. cable knit (Y) 33. breton stripe (Y, I think? I have a white tee with thin black stripes, does that count?) 34. white tee (Y) 35. jean (Y) 36. flare (Y, if bootcuts count) 37. tuxedo (N) 38. double-breasted jacket (N) 39. blazer (Y) 40. camel hair coat (N) 41. overcoat (Y) 42. peacoat (N) 43. trench coat (Y) 44. stacking ring (Y) 45. nude nail (N) 46. silk PJs (N) 47. mascara (Y) 48. basic bra and panty (Y) 49. lace balconette (Y) 50. red lip (N)
28 out of 50 for me, which is more than expected. I've never even considered many of these (mod boots, camel hair coat) as things most people would own.
Woman living in a city or large town, working a pretty standard office job, who goes to hear a classical recital once a month Wednesdays and to a trendy restaurant and movie Fridays or Saturdays. Maybe takes a little walk in the park daytime weekends, the odd museum or gallery show.
Yep, this does look like a list for a more classic eastern seaboard dresser, odd though it is in a few specifics.
I'd say I have 31/50 (not counting multiples like 3 silk shirts...none of them white) but my versions are sometimes definitely not what they were thinking...my cashmere sweater is a vintage lipstick-red fitted1940s number with ribbed trim and shell buttons; my pea coat is a Life-Saver-striped 70s Hudson Bay blanket coat. No stilettos, no leopard, but yes OTK boots (eep...did I really get them maybe even more than 15 years ago?), and I do believe I have the Mod boots covered.
This is such an odd list! Mini skirt and stilettos on my 61 y.o. body? I don't think so! Since when did a stacking ring become a *must have*? Sadly, with our drought of the last few years, my rain boots are hardly a necessity. But yes, I own jeans, bra and panties. Why did she even list the latter?
I think I have 28 of 50 but in some categories I have multiples. Like jeans and white tees. And striped tops and cashmere.
I believe my essential list is tiny -- jeans, tees, dress shirts, booties, leather moto, cashmere cardigan, overcoat, one LBD and one pair pumps. However I tend to go really deep into each category, I am realizing it's part uniform love and part lust for duplicates.
