Personally I bought a pair of Ray Bans maybe a year or two ago now and I would never go back to buying the cheaper varieties from H&M, Topshop etc. When I was younger I used to buy about 5 sunglasses every year because I'd sit/lose them all over summer. But since I got some more expensive ones for my birthday, I've found that I actually want to take care of them a little better and because they're made up of much sturdier material, they don't break as easy! Like my mate got a pair of Rayban aviator from this little UK shop (who are AWESOME by the way, definitely recommended!) and he's done all sorts to it, and though there are a few minor scratches they're still pretty solid.

I've never had a pair of prescription sunglasses but feel, for me, it would be bothersome to switch out from my everyday pair. I have had the transition lenses but didn't care for them. The last two times I've bought glasses I went with frames that offered matching clip on sunglasses. It limits my choices, but in my case that is probably a good thing since I have such a difficult time actually making a decision. I keep the clip ons in my car for the most part. While I have left them places on a couple of occasions, I have yet to actually lose them.

prescription sunnies changed my life. i have more pairs now than regular script glasses.

I sometimes wish I could wear all the fun sunglasses I see people sporting, but I also need prescription sunglasses. I do love my current pair (Oliver Peoples aviator style), but sometimes I want to mix it up more. Maybe I should invest in an alternate pair, since I do have three pairs of regular glasses I choose from depending on the day's outfit.

I've tried on hundreds (literally!) of sunglasses, both designer and cheapos - and have always looked either vaguely alien or like a young Ray Charles. The only pair that has ever worked for me is a $15 pair of rose coloured glasses that I found in a booth (not even a real store!) at a shopping mall. I've managed to hold onto them for almost a decade, but I dread the day that I finally accidentally sit on them or forget them in a taxi. I don't know if they're bad for my eyes, and by the time I found them I didn't care anymore.

I have a three pair, all fairly pricey (one very pricey) but I like them and haven't broken or lost them yet (knock on wood). I keep them in the case in my bag, and make sure to always put them directly away when I take them off my face.

I wear contacts, so I don't have to worry about prescription sunglasses. But I have a friend who wears glasses and loves hers.
