I have made my decision - Boss suit is going back. I think it will be smarter to spend my budget on something that is actual need, and I just remembered that my winter coat situation is in dire condition. Last 2 winters I was WFH and in that period I bought 2 winter coats, but they were both intended for casual wear and threy don't fit over my work blazers. All my other outerwear dates pre weight loss and they are 2-3 sizes too big. I am now back in the office full time. I can still wear my winter coats if absolutely necessery but they look sloppy. For some reason I don't enjoy shopping for outerwear, and considering that they are on the expensive side, it will take me few more years to replace all, if my weight stays stable. This winter I would like to get 3 coats - one light neutral, one dark neutral and one in fun color.

Wow 3 coats! Just as well you don’t live here. They are generally hundreds and hundreds of dollars here or even a thousand. I don’t own a good one but there isn’t really the need as I live in the warmer areas of our temperate climate.
I think it sounds good to save your budget for the coat situation since you will need warm outerwear more.
The suit did look good on you.

Sounds like a smart decision. Good luck with the coat search.

Considering that you are planning to get three winter coats, it sounds like the right decision.

smart decision. It can take a long time to find the right winter coat, do you have any ideas of the brands / shapes / material?

Coats are not that expensive here - I think I can find decent one for the price of the Boss suit.
I probably need minimum one for the deep winter and one for milder days, but 3 coats would be better because I will wear them daily for the next 6 months. I was thinking maybe navy wool coat and cream puffer coat. Third is less of priority, maybe some fun coat later in the winter.

Late winter when you want to burn the coats you have worn for months. At I suggest blush. It will sing of spring but can be worn with dark neutrals successfully too. Rounding out costs with accessory capsules can be expensive too especially if you include boots and cashmere scarves.
