Do any of these bubble skirt outfits work?

Well, I was planning on going out and doing some shopping and maybe looking for a sparkly top and/or an oversized bolero (that Angie suggested I pair with my bubble skirt). However, it's already started snowing here and it's wicked cold, so I've decided to stay in and play in my closet instead.

Here's a couple of potential holiday outfits (not too dressy) with the bubble skirt. I don't have another bolero/capelet thingy that is shaped like my autumnal color one, but I found this fuchsia handknit shrug that I had forgotten about. I have it over a polka dot cami here but I think plain black is probably better. I also thought my burnout red cami with a black cropped jacket might work. I am also trying a couple of belts on the skirt since I don't love how the waistband is a little too wide, high, and loose. I tried a skinny gold one (too high contrast? too skinny?) and a tied wide black one (which I kind of like, but is it too much with the bubble skirt?).

Please note: I would obviously wear hose of some sort with these. I could do nude, sheer black, patterned black, or opaque black. Also, I'm not wearing a bra, if you're wondering why my bust looks odd in some of the photos!

1: fuchsia shrug, gold belt
2: fuchsia shrug, no belt
3-4: red cami, black jacket, wide tied black belt.
5: an old attempt (from my K/R post) with a loose cropped red top; this didn't get much love the first time around but I'm asking again.
6: the original capelet outfit. This *is* still an option for holiday outfit but it reads more autumn to me.

It's quite hard to tell without black hose, actually. I vote no belt and go with #3. Although #6 still whacks it out of the ball park. xo

Personally, I like outfit #1. I like the proportions of the shrug and the skirt. I also like how the shrug plays up the area under the neck.

Thanks for the link to the cardi, Angie! Cashmere and leather sounds perfect. Unfortunately I think I need a medium, which is sold out. I'm going to keep an eye on it to see if it comes back though!

I like #6 best too, honestly. But I want another option because a)the colors don't seem very holiday, and b)the event(s) I'd wear this to are with the same people with whom I wore the capelet outfit. Wish I could find a capelet in gold!

I like 2 and/or 3 the best (without the belt, because I think the laces on the belt distract from the folds in the skirt.) But, I like the v-neckline of #5 the best! (I'm not being much help, I know!)

Try your shortest blazer with the skirt.

The jacket in #3 IS my shortest jacket.

That's why I liked it best straight off the bat. Is it shorter than your lace blazer?

The lace is a little longer in front and a lot longer in back. It might work but I thought it was kind of busy with the pattern of the red cami. The problem is that the skirt is very high waisted. It sits at my natural waist, which none of my other skirts do (because I don't generally like the look). I was attempting with the gold belt to try to make the waist appear lower but I don't think it worked.

I also am awed by #6. I think #3 is fab, too, without the belt, and maybe with a fancy brooch or earrings if you want something "more." My holiday challenge has convinced me that you're not dressed for the holiday if you don't "feel" yourself! That said, you must wear #6 sometime soon!

Well, I like #3 the best. The top adds pretty and festive color.

I vote 2 and 3. 6 is not "festive" enough.
If you shop, why not look for a slightly fitted sparkle sleeveless top as suggested in Angie's post?

The high waist on the skirt is one of its great proportion attributes, don't fight it. You could even go for a close to the skin black lace top worn over black tank.

Hosiery: nude with these booties look good, but you could go opaque, although I would avoid solid black as it is too scholar, and not evening wear enough (especially with the shown booties. Otherwise, opaque black with patent dress shoes would look nice). Have fun with them, as the skirt makes the legs the star of the show. I would even go for something patterned (as long as muted) or printed nude, with a line and a bow in the back, for example.

Wow, what an interesting skirt!!! I love the pop of color with it, and would have to say # 2 and # 6 are my favs!
