You are never too old to learn new things, Lisap. My 82 yo mother just read the Kondo book and did her whole closet. It took her a week, but she got it done! (Now she is going to tackle her books.). I really like your side stripe jeans in #5.

I think attacking a wardrobe category by category is the best strategy. If I attempt to do my entire wardrobe at single time I am overwhelmed and give up after 15 minutes.

I don't know if this will help you, but I broke my wardrobe down into really small defined categories that I could easily and successfully deal with. Each success fed the next one. It took me multiple weekends to get to the end but eventually I was quite pleased.

I learned from Angie to edit and cull often (still on a category-by-category basis). It was an idea that I very much resisted, but now I review my wardrobe twice per year. No holding zone for me either. It either makes the cut or it doesn't.

Great collection of jeans! I really need an updated pair or two this year. I love the Kondo folding method. I reorganized all my drawers a few years ago and find it so much easier to see what I have.

Fantastic! I like these kinds of posts so indulge away. Great denim collection. Someday I would love to find a pair of side stripe jeans that doesn’t make a big stripey curve over my saddlebags, ugh.

Love it - your jean collection and how neat and tidy they look. I love these posts too, it makes me motivated to organise my closet. Your denim collection has so much variety and if you can get interesting jeans that fit and don't have to pay premium denim prices, then it is even better.

You know, keeping track of what one has, and making sure there is no more in that collection that what you can wear really makes sense for me. I have no room for holding zones, and don't want them anyways. I had them in former house for years and they just became an excuse not to think about the clothes in them and really use them. I'm thrilled I have been label to find nice fitting and interesting jeans this year at and around the $100 price point (except for the Frame pair of course - ugh) . I'd rather spend my clothing dollars elsewhere, even though I do wear jeans a lot .

Back to say WELL DONE, LISA P. You made my day. We are never too old to learn a new process or system.

The only successful way forward with our wardrobes is to know what we have, how it fits, and how we currently feel about the item. You achieved that with your denim capsule and it's blasting brilliant

Your denim collection looks on trend and great! Such fun tuxedo stripes! No more need for denim for a while is a wonderful feeling. (I feel the same way, btw). Enjoy it, and give yourself a big pat on the back!

SOOOO FABULOUS!!!

Happy dance! This is amazing and inspiring. It must feel so good to know you now have a versatile but tightly edited collection of jeans.

Oh, the feeling of having enough exciting and on trend options of jeans is wonderful! It’s a fashion bliss in my book. Totally get you, on organizing front as well. Love both of your side stripe pairs. Would be happy to find a pair myself which excites me - both the stripe and the jean cut.

What a great denim collection. How wonderful to have so many options!

i really need to learn the Kondo folding system...great job and nice collection of denim!

Geez Angie, I wondered if maybe I had inadvertently killed you ! You are SO right though - it is the best feeling ever, and really wasn't a big job. My next project is my ridiculous blazer collection , and I'm already worried. Last year I accumulated a bunch of mid-level so-so black blazers to wear to my part-time job......and now we wear a uniform , so no need for all these Aritizia etc blazers. No idea how to approach this. I'll be reporting back over the weekend some time

Nice work Lisa! Glad to hear that this was a helpful process for you

I, like you, don't believe in spending a lot of money on jeans...all of my jeans are from the Gap or Banana Republic. They fit my needs fine and I'd rather spend my money elsewhere

WELL DONE. I love a good Kondo arrangement!

Keep it coming, I love these kinds of posts. Good luck with the blazers!

I'm very much alive! *knocks on wood*

Don't worry about your large blazer collection. One item at a time, and you will do great! Pull out and put ALL your black blazers together on rack and start THERE. Attack it. Choose the best, and the ones that make you feel fab. Pass on the rest.

Fabulous work!

This also highlights that your denim capsule is important- you will keep refreshing it at the pace that is right for you, but when you can SEE and wear what you have, then it’s so much easier to identify what’s tired, what didn’t work as well as you hoped, what you want to do next year, and so on.

So glad you did not kill Angie! Love her advice for dealing with the black blazers. I need to do this with my black boot collection.
