Cup-Sized Bikinis - YouLookFab Forum

I think I've been struggling with bikinis since I was 11 or 12. Why? I have big boobs. Big boobs, even if young, are NOT supported by triangle-tops, or halter-necks without underwire, let alone bandeau bikinis. At the age of 15, I was trying on bikinis meant for old ladies with super bold prints and huge bottoms. Summer was a torture. I always ended up in unfitting sport bikinis and the like, or unsupportive yet a bit cute one-piece swimsuits. To make it even harder, have you noticed how big tops are mostly always paired with big bottoms? So if you are a, let's say 34C, you definitely should be needing a size 10 bottom (or so they think). And they won't let you break the pairing. Come on, I'm an hourglass, I'm supposed to be perfectly proportioned, but I am not THAT proportioned. We are not Barbies, we are not made all the same and when it comes to underwear, or something like it, we shouldn't be wearing just anything with enough fabric.
Two years ago, I discovered some bikini brands (not Spanish, of course) that actually cater for women that need cup-sized bikinis. The bikinis look actually pretty, sexy and youthful, although others are more modest. Which brands I'm talking about?

Those are the ones I know, but I want to think there are many others out-there. If you think about it, it is an intelligent market decision. Right now I have four nice bikinis -the first two are actually a bit big on me because I lost more weight, but well-, two from FREYA, one is from Fantasie and one is from British Debenhams.

I'm quite happy, especially with the Freya ones because they are like bras. The other two are halters and they hurt my neck, so I recommend you the bra-like bikinis if you are well endowed.

This conversation I started with the aim of collecting any other experiences well endowed youlookfabbers may have had, as well as any knowledge regarding this issue. I don't think I'm planning on buying any new bikinis this summer because I already have some, although I may wait for sales and see what happens. One bad thing about these bikinis is that they are very expensive, and they don't last that much. Let's face it, if you go swimming regularly, and to the beach, the fabric is going to last, at the most, three years or four, but don't ask for more durability, even if they are good quality.

Another thing is, If you are like me and very petite regarding band size, pray so there will be smaller sizes in your future, because right now, UK30 is the smallest you can get, and UK28 in some models, let's keep waiting.

For the British gals, you probably know already, but Bavissimo is the queen of Bra-Cups. Smart owner it's got!

I have the same problem! I buy mine at H&M The have big cups and separates!

I will be watching this thread with interest because I struggle with this too. A lot of bikinis that come with supportive tops also seem to have bottoms that are unflattering on my fuller hip-thigh area. I don't want more coverage on bottom just because the top needs to be supportive. Boy shorts and lower-legged styles look awful on me. I need a slightly high-cut leg, and actually, string style bottoms look good on me because they don't bind or pinch the way a lot of elastic leg openings do. In a lot of swimsuit styles, by the time I go up in size enough to accommodate a slightly larger leg opening, the butt is baggy.

I need the underwire support in swimwear for sure. I only buy separates (usually Tankini top and regular bottoms) I wear a 34DDD/F and this year found some tops I like from Athleta and they sell tops and bottoms separate. I've had ok luck with some of the Lands End and JCrew DD tops. I've never ordered, but do like the look of Aerin Rose in addition to the brands listed above.

Rute, H&M bikinis do not cater for cups larger than D nor for bands smaller than 34, or at least they don't in Spain. But lucky you if you can sport them, some of them are pretty and cheap!!

This is a great topic for those of us who don't fit the regular swimsuit tops. I have gotten a couple of very nice bikini tops from Athleta, which has several bra-sized options (though I still have to size up a cup). Generally I wear them with swim shorts so I don't feel as completely exposed.

I just mentioned this on a thread I just started, but if anyone has an Intimacy Bra Fit Specialists store nearby, they are now carrying cup-sized swimwear. They had several brands and styles at my local store. I really liked one Freya bikini, but held off on purchasing it.
