I've been messing around with orders/returns for a pair of long wide not-really-shorts for quite some time. I don't really care for a long straight Bermuda - I have a pair that I wear at home but they don't really give the look I want. I don't understand nor like the word "jorts" so I avoided those too - LOL. Cropped wide legs weren't right either.....and I finally landed on what Old Navy calls a slouchy wide leg culotte . Even that took an order and exhange for a smaller size before I was satisfied. They were Old Navy - cheap and that made me quite happy as who knows how long this look will stick. I've had them for a couple of months now and finally wore them today for the first time with a BR cotton poplin-ish zip front top. I love BR for their off-beat tops but the pricing on some of this stuff kills me. I've had this one for quite awhile but it needed some "customization " that I finally got done the other day.
Anyways - I felt pretty good in this outfit - although I'm not sold on the shoes and jewellery. I can't keep buying new black footwear for every possible occasion and look though, so these will do for now. SUPER comfortable , and although the chunkiness may not be current, I like the height l get . I have my eye on some jewellery from a local company called Sunday Feel that specializes in sterling silver interesting pieces. My jewellery is feeing kind of meh at the moment and I may invest in a some of this line later this summer.

The other long short/culotte I bought and love are these below from Gap. Linen blend with a drawstring waist. Very flowy and fun - wore them to work with a linen architectural -ish cut top and loved the outfit.
fisherman sandals - Quince
earrings - DConstruct
bag - old Prada I couldn't give away - hahaha
