Cropped flares - are they still in?

Hello All! Recently I picked up a fair of crop flare jeans, are those still 'in' for the next spring/summer season or I've missed that boat entirely? I've never liked the look but decided to try them on and surprisingly, I like the look! Very different from the skinny jeans / jeggings I wear most of the time, or the bf/gf style (I don't like regular bootcut jeans that much..). What shoes do I pair with them? I have lucky brand ankle perforated booties I was thinking about or maybe flats? I don't wear heels, sadly, that would be the no-brainer ;). Thanks!

I consider a cropped flare a classic now. I have quite a few pair and wear them fairly regularly as it's a silhouette I really like. Something different, you know? I prefer them with a bit of a heel to lengthen the leg, but they also look cute with a flat mule too.

I think they will be around a while. I don't have cropped flares, but did buy two pairs of wide leg crops. Will not get more, and will have to force myself to at least get a few more wears out of them before passing them on. Cropped flares definately look better to me, so I would wear them more.

I’m glad you asked this question, as I’ve been wondering the same thing.

Things like this don’t bother me, but I’m the only one I ever see wearing them. I have two pairs (J Crew Fall ‘16) and I like them so I’m not about to stop wearing them. NI prefer them with a bit of a heel, but since I usually wear them to work I most often wear them with a pair of cute flats.

I personnaly don't wear cropped pants because I prefer leg-elongating looks on me, but I think they are not out (at least here in France). I frequently see cropped flares and wide-legs in stores and in the streets.
Lately I saw a lady wearing tall boots under cropped wide trousers and the result was gorgeously elegant. She was wearing heels, but I think it would have been nice with flats as well.

I hope they're not out! I only just recently got a pair from Anthropologie and I absolutely love them. They're surprisingly flattering... I usually wear them with a black flat lace up sandal.
Well I am in Australia though and I think traditionally we are one season behind here.
However I do think the full length flared jean has been and gone; all too quickly. I didn't get as much wear out of my black ones as I thought I would.

I don’t really know whether waxing or waning as a style.
I know the very subtle flair ( in the cropped) is appealing to me because it kinda unexpectedly balances things compared to a very tapered crop— looks find of like a straight but allows more fit through the thigh.
I don’t have any but have been working on approach of assessing the proportions and flattery of the item more than in or out, since I may not find what I want in a give season, and then also relying on my environmental norm as not being cutting edge- focused.

I think they may not be cutting-edge any more but I think they will still be “in”—at least I hope so because I’m still wearing them and plan to continue thru spring.
As for footwear -I love them in fall with a boot or booted- especially the sock booties. For spring with a fashion sneaker or an Oxford or a sandal with an able strap.

I think if you like it and it suits you it’s in!I ve got all sorts of trousers flared ,cropped, cropped wide legs and intend to wear them all for a long time yet.I agree that footwear needs careful consideration with the less traditional trouser cut.lf in doubt a knee high boot usually works with most things I find.

I hope so, or those of us who got the Halogen magic pants at NAS are all in trouble! I've been trying to wear mine in the winter too, with boots that have a high enough shaft to about reach to the hemline or past it.

Christina - I have those pants, and winter is the only time I wear them! They are too thick for summer wear for me . And I have exactly one pair of boots with a high enough shaft - and I sure wish I could find another .

I wear those pants exclusively in winter too. Lisa, have you tried with snog fitting heeled knee high boots? This works well for me and keeps me warm!

Suz and Lisa, I wore them in the fall but the weight makes them better for winter for sure. They work with my combat boots (I have a black pair and a velvet pair). I too would like one more pair. I was thinking a sock bootie type thing. But all the ones I’ve found have too high a heel.
