Cowhide loafers ETA new pics

So the loafers arrived today.
They feel comfy.
My first impression was : they're loud.
By the time I tried on with the black trousers, I'd grown accustomed to the loud pattern.

#1-2 : tried on with WIW today

#3-4 : how I intended to wear, with black trousers or dark blue jeans + black&white tops or white shirts.

#5 : all my summer shoes.

They're just out of the box, and I'm just out of the office, so I'll give them a better look this weekend. What do you think?

Oh, and while I'm at it : do the culottes look silly with the tunic? I'm still experimenting with the 2 culottes I have - which is fun, I must say.

ETA : tried them on with faded jeans and chocolate chinos this morning, and I think I like them better with less contrast in the outfit, after all.
Not going out of the house with them yet.

Your new loafers are fun and look great with both outfits. The first outfit looks quite all right, not silly at all. You have a fab collection of shoes.

I like the culottes with the tunic. I don't often get time to comment, but I do enjoy your posts very much when I get the chance to read here. The cow-hide shoes seem like a departure from my impression of your vibe, so it seems to me the question is whether that is the direction that you want.

ETA: I am positively inspired by the good care you take of your shoes--every pair with a shaper.

Culottes look great with the tunic. Fashion forward. It's the low contrast between the top and bottom that make it work to my eye.

Are your loafers hair-calf? I love them! I can imagine having exactly your reaction...oops, they're loud...nope, they're OK , actually. The tunic and culottes look good on you--you seem tall enough to be able to wear, easily, outfits with horizontal breaks.

The new loafers are gorgeous, especially with the black and white outfit. I can understand your feeling that they were loud when you first put them on--I've had that reaction to some shoes, too. But I'm glad your eye adjusted already, because they look really great, and I think they will work well with your wardrobe.
I like the culottes and tunic together, and Angie's comment about the low contrast makes sense for explaining why it works so nicely.
I'm admiring your shoe collection--a good variety and such beautifully looking shoes! And also what Scarlet said--that you have a shoe tree for every pair! No wonder they look pristine.

When you first described the new shoes as "loud," I thought you meant the soles made a lot of noise when you walked, LOL!

I like them with the looks that you've shown. However, I did have a similar pair of loafers bought a couple of years ago, and I often did not wear them with looks that should have seemed like a perfect fit, just because I did have that "everyone look at my shoes" feeling.

Culottes with tunic looks great on you. And your shoe collection is to die for. I do not think your new shoes are too loud.

I do not ever in my life remember thinking a pair of shoes was too loud for me. I probably should have.

Pattern is personal. I struggle with patterned shoes. I have a pair of floral boots that I love the idea of but struggle to wear. I am happy to go loud (patterned) in my tops or bottoms but not in my shoes it seems. All my other shoes are neutral. You already have some coloured and patterned shoes so maybe this is something that you are comfortable with? If so, I vote keep. They are really cute, especially in the second outfit. And the tunic looks good with the culottes too.

I adore them Isabelle. But then I am a person who wears plenty of "loud" shoes. I like them best with the pattern mixing of the striped top. I like all your summer shoes but am interested that they are all closed-toe. Another person like Angie who prefers closed toe summer shoes? I like to "expose my toes"

@ Emily k : yes, calf hair. Just noticed the brand calls the pattern "dalmatian" so I should have entitled the post "dog-hide loafers". That would probably have me banned from YLF though

@ Angie, Laurel : well, you can buy them, the (German) brand sells to the US...you'll have to rob a bank with Super Sam first, because the US price is ridiculously expensive!

thanks very much for rising these issues.
I never know which direction I'm going, I'm bad at defining "style persona". I'm attracted to the idea of punchy shoes at the moment (to liven up dull white skin in summer or masculine/conservative suits in winter).
But maybe there's too much white in this particular pattern, hence the feeling of loudness.

@ Jenni : I like toes and heels enclosed, yes. Feel more protected in the grimy city (I commute on foot) and feel more appropriate for work.

@ Firecracker, Joy : didn't realize the shoe collection is varied, but yes, I don't seem to have the same uniform tendencies in shoes that I have in clothes.

@ Jaime : yes, the second outfit is more natural to me.

Wow! I like those shoes with EVERY outfit. Did you show us the top in pic #6 as part of your post on orange items? I really like it here. Fantastic. I'm glad to see the link for the shoes. When I started searching on-line for similar, I found some at asos but I can't open the link again.

Yep, posted the orange top in orange post, worn it with chocolate chinos and navy culottes so far, but I like it much better here, with faded jeans and a good ole half tuck.

I love them on you. What's magical about cowhide shoes is the way they can tie dark and light together in an outfit. They bookend beautifully, whatever one is wearing. My favourites here are 3, 6, 7, 9.

I do think the culottes work with the tunic as a high-summer look.

Ok you need to smile more in these photos because those new loafers are amazing on you! I like all these looks but #6 is my favorite because that is a lovely color on you. And what I like best of all is that you tried out your new shoes with outfits to make sure they worked before you wore them, awesome! I try to do this myself too. Now chop chop, start wearing those fabulous new shoes!
