Oh great idea, thanks very much for starting this thread, Shiny.

Jane - I'm also looking forward to new episodes of Luther (although I thought the last season was only so-so).
Brooklyn - 100% agreed with Scandinavian version of The Bridge (also The Killing).

- Secret City
- Travelers
- Dead to Me
- Good Girls
- Peaky Blinders
- Grace & Frankie
- Altered Carbon (have only seen the first season)
- Line of Duty
- Criminal United Kingdom
- Russian Doll
- Morden i Sandhamn (not as bleak as The Bridge or The Killing)
- Big Dreams Small Spaces (if you find gardening shows relaxing to watch
- The Umbrella Academy
- The Letdown and Bonusfamiljen if you enjoy shows about families with young children
- Fringe (older but a good one to get stuck into now if you've never seen it)
- Killing Eve (I've only seen the first episode but looks promising)

We enjoy Death in Paradise in the US on Public Television. We tape it so I am not sure when it comes on, but I think it is Saturday or Sunday nights.
Even if you don’t cook, you might like the British Baking shows.

Inge! Great call on Killing Eve - I forgot - it is good. And so stylish.

Another fan of Killing Eve here!
I also love My Brilliant Friend (both the books and the TV series).
Currently watching Zerozerozero on HBO. I have also started watching the British series Liar. I like both these series so far.

Recent changes (EVERYTHING cancelled or closed) has led DH to suggest we take on painting our bedroom!

I ve got my eye on re painting the kitchen Runcarla!Everything being slowly cancelled here too despite the official advice rather than because of it.

I’m trying to decide which of my tops and bottoms will get sacrificed to the project, since I don’t have a ‘grubby capsule’ ATM.

...and I’m wondering if there will be a baby boom in 9 months?

We are hoping to move within as little as three months so we can start going through our stuff to figure out if any of it needs to be gotten rid of first. It’s a great time for home projects like that - or painting!

Carla, if you don’t have any clothes to sacrifice, buy pants and a tee at a thrift store.

I enjoy visiting my favourite websites, this one being the most comforting: https://www.jw.org/en/

I personally can’t wait to read , read and read more still! And to listen to all of the podcasts I have saved and never listened too . I have a bit of TV fatigue from all of the news I shouldn’t be watching so am looking forward for some personal time to reflect

I'm not sure how much actual time off I will have -- although it looks like I could wind up working from home sometime in the next while. I'd love to paint a room, or some old furniture that's crying out for colour. In a few weeks I'll start zinnias indoors. Last year I had about 72 cells -- some admittedly with multiple plants in them (and I can't stand to murder a plant). I was SOOOO happy with my yard after I finally got them all planted.

High five Jane and Katerina re Killing Eve. Jane, yes! I've seen photos of some of the outfits to come, and they're soooo good!-)

I don't know if I'll be working from home, but my boss said to take all my equipment just in case the offices are closed.
Can't help with Netflix suggestions. DH got us Hulu, but I've never used it. 10 minutes of You Tube is my video tolerance, and only if I'm on the stationary bike.

If I can't go in to work, I'll bike, SUP (if the water temp is high enough), plant milkweed seeds, design rooms, play games, read, do yoga, dance, practice poi and nunchuku, tidy the "boathouse" (garage) and maybe write, make jewelry, sew, or play instruments. If I'm really bored I'll rake the trails in the woods so I can run back there. Should also photograph and put my summer clothes into Finds!

I love the audiobook based on Tyler Perry's Madea character- her views on life, sex, kids, etc. It is read by Tyler *as* Madea! Really funny. Name is 'Don't make a Black woman take off her earrings'. It's also available as a regular eBook, but the audio one is so much better, imo. I got mine on Google Play Store, but available elsewhere also.....

I guess everyone has already watched this: Ken Burns’ Country Music. It’s excellent!

We just stared watching "The Outsider" upon your recommendations. It's good! Thrilling and a bit of a Horror.

Inge, Season 2 of "Altered Carbon" is way better than Season 1! Complicated story, but I'm sure you'll do a better job than me of keeping up

I'll add some more:

  • Newsroom
  • Chernobyl
  • The 100
  • Fringe
My ABSOLUTE ALL TIME TV SHOW FAVOURITES:
  • Battlestar Galactica
  • Friday Night Lights
  • The Wire
  • Justified
  • Breaking Bad
  • Wallander
  • Game of Thrones
  • Homeland
  • Mad Men (a VISUAL feast)

I'll add ER to the 'must see' list. Also the 80's comedies Cheers and my favorite Barney Miller (set in a NYC Police Precinct) is awesome

I’ll be working from home and watching a child, so not sure if I’ll have much free time, but if I do, I’ve asked my mom to teach me how to sew. And my top show to watch again is The Dectorists (Acorn TV).

I finished The Morning Show last night and think it’s really excellent. A powerful if fictional examination of the environments that helped spark the #metoo movement.

Aw, if we’re going to go all vintage, I’d go back and rewatch Homicide:Life on the Street, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Battlestar Gallactica!

LOL Angie:-) I just started watching Altered Carbon season 2, and am really enjoying it!

On the humor side, so glad someone mentioned The Goldbergs! That has to be one of the cutest shows ever made - highly recommend, and am going to go back and re-watch it. It's delightful how the creator shows a clip from his home videos he made at the age of 13 (in the early '80s) at the end of each show, that the episode was based on. And I'm just a huge fan of Schitt's Creek. Love love love.

I think I've recommended these Israeli shows before:
- Fauda - extremely well done. Violence. Season 3 released in Israel but not yet on American Netflix.
- Shtisel - heartwarming, interesting insight into the ultra Orthodox community in Jerusalem. Hoping for a Season 3!

Humor from France : Call My Agent

Vintage - heavy, but in my top 10 favorite series ever:
- Six Feet Under
- The Wire (so with you on this one, Angie!)

Inge, it's great

The Outsider is turning out to be quite the horror........ Compelling though.

Laurie, HIGH FIVE, and I really enjoyed Shtisel too.

Janet, HIGH FIVE.

Also re-watching Cheers for comic relief.

Thanks all for the suggestions!!

My anxiety has been running pretty high the last 4 days since I started this thread, as it's been one announcement after another for our city and my company. As soon as I find myself relaxing, out comes another announcement with further restrictions.

So I've been finding it difficult to follow the weightier dramas, much less getting involved in a novel. However, I can totally handle super junky low-commitment lightweight shows! I binge-watched "Love is Blind" this weekend and "100 Humans" last night. "Love is Blind" is totally calorie free. "100 Humans" was actually pretty interesting.

Please also send your frivolous entertainment recommendations!

Angie - The Durrels in Corfu was amazing! I need to watch that one again.

Cella - I signed up for a PBS subscription awhile back just to finish watching it. Then binge-watched every period drama on the channel. But also, it's based on a book so there's always that route!

Shiny - Maybe Grace and Frankie if you haven't seen it yet.

Thank you , Shiny. For now I have plenty to watch but will consider PBS if I would like more variety.

Inge, yes I am all caught up on Grace and Frankie!!

I’ve just started watching Jamestown. It’s good, but I find it scary. Lol. People were vicious in the old days... which I, btw, feel ended in 1995. Lol

Jamestown was pretty good -- maybe not historically accurate but I still loved it!
