I absolutely love your hair. Never in my six plus decades of life have I ever aspired to have long hair although "short" has been defined in a myriad of styles over the years. Now my style is much like yours although my bangs are longer. It really should be a "wash and wear" cut, but if I don't use a dryer and round brush (and sometimes a flat iron) it frizzes all over the place in Houston's humidity,

I just found your wonderful site last week and have been a regular visitor since. Now to the purpose of my contacting you: would you consider providing some information about attractive "comfort" shoes that don't make me feel like I shopped at a nursing home? I have mutliple foot issues (nerve neuropathy, arthritis etc.) and adding to that, it feels as though the fat on the balls of my feet has diminished to the point that wearing heels for more than 30 minutes causes great pain. I work full time and at some distance from my home, thus necessitating a long day in whatever footwear I begin my day with. I need something super cushioned that really does what it promises. Is this something you could help me with?

Try Aerosoles and A2 by Aerosoles? I've been surprised how stylish they've gotten over the past several years, and they are indeed comfortable. Even some of their heels, although I don't encourage anyone to wear heels who doesn't want to!

Other brands you could try include: Söfft, Softspots, and Børn.

I love Clarks shoes. Footbed is very cushioned. Prices range from 50-80 dollars. I've bought cheaper shoes but comfort just doesn't come close to the Clarks. Styles are varied, from clogs to dressier styles.

For cushioning, I find it hard to beat Softspots. Some styles are very "old lady" and orthopedic-looking, but there are also some very nice-looking styles.

I have had luck with Gentle Souls shoes. I believe they're by Kenneth Cole. I got the wedge hammer in bronze and liked it so much that I also bought it in black. The foot beds are memory foam lined with deer skin..so soft! Nordstrom carries them. Good luck.

I love a cushioning footbed too. I CANNOT wear hard shoes. I also pop soft insoles into all my shoes for extra cushioning comfort. Which comfort shoe brands have you tried? There are so many options. It depends entirely on your foot needs.

Even comfort shoes are often not comfortable for me. I have several problems, including the lack of enough cushioning fat on my feet. I have a drawer full of various pads and insoles that I fiddle around until I can walk in comfort. I've spent so much money on shoes that seemed to work until I walked a couple of miles in them.

The ladies that review shoes here seem to have more foot issues than the average person, so their standards for comfort are at a whole new level. Plus, I love how they take pictures of the shoe ON the foot when they write reviews... gives a better idea of how cute they *actually* are.

Sally, this is an issue I am struggling with right now!!!! I posted this same info on another thread but thought I would cut and paste it here:

I currently have extreme foot and knee pain, and I have been looking for new sandals that I can wear without hobbling. According to my unscientific research these brands all have: Anti-pronation, Torsional Stability, Removable Insole, Firm Heel Counter and a Firm Medial Midsole. Some of the shoes are cute (and some are hideous). I have only looked on Zappos so far for these brands. Some brands have sandals, shoes and boots available.

SAS shoes are very comfortable, and look tolerable. I've only had the sandals. They aren't sold over the web, I think, but you might be able to find a store near you. There's a store locator on their website.

I second the recommendation of SAS shoes...I have arthritis in my toes and ankle and was a cashier for 19+ years (on my feet for 7.5-13 hours daily-2 jobs) and they have always felt great on my feet! Especially the nubuck ones.... now that oxfords are in-style, they are even fashionable! lol...
