Cognac? or Chestnut? or Sand? Boot color confusion.

I have a pair of Frye Rory boots in vintage brown and I'm in the market for a light color...but I'm confused about the names of the various colors and it's making it hard to target my search. Right now, I have this color:

And I like the look of this color (sand) in the photos...but I'm told that the actual color is more taupe in real life:

I guess what I'm looking for are some examples of brown boot colors and their actual names! Anyone a color expert?

I'm no color expert, but I have the Rory in Sand, and I love the color. It's a fantastic neutral that goes with pretty much everything.

Kari has the same boots, and she had a bunch of pictures of fantastic outfits with those boots.

Vote number two for the sand colour. I just like it. When they say it's more "taupe" than "sand", what they probably mean is that it's a cooler tone -- i.e. not quite as golden as it appears on the monitor. But I'd say that's a good thing!

Thanks elisabeth and tarzy. Darn! I just missed out on a pair of sand Rorys in my size on ebay. There were no returns allowed and I hemmed and hawed about the color and ultimately lost out. I do want something light and warm...golden would be ok since I'm trying to bookend my hair. Sounds like sand is what I'm looking for after all.
