I’m waiting at the vaccination clinic - four story building, hard floors, modern, central atrium that the waiting areas all look out at. And I’m reading a book, ‘How Infrastructure Works.’ Everyone here is in some sort of soft-soled athletic type shoe. But then one girl walks through wearing ‘proper’ shoes—cute snakeskin booties. The sound of her heels though, booming through the building. EVERYONE just stares at her until she stops walking.

I’m thinking this may be the last time she wears them and this is how the sneaker takeover becomes complete.

Now I’m wondering about other things affecting modern fashion.
