For the first time ever I dropped DD off at daycare and took the day off! I feel euphoric in a very guilty way! I'm doing a little playing around in my closet with some new pieces.
1: BR jeans, Naya boots, grey Tneck and Karen Millen sweater from eBay. Thoughts suggestions?

Love the outfit! You look terrific and so pulled together.

I felt the same way the first time i dropped DD off at Daycare and went shopping and out to lunch with DH. But you need your you time, and sometimes, daycare is the only way to get it

I used to love dropping my daughter at daycare so I could have a day to myself. It's important to have recharge time.

No guilt! I sent DS to basketball camp last week on my day off so I could do holiday errands. Better for both of us!

Guilt is part of parenthood, at least for our generation. Do we ever feel we are doing enough, or are present enough??

On to the outfit...For some reason, the grey turtle is not working for me with the jeans and the sweater. It feels like too much of a contrast to my eye against the lighter pieces. I think I would like to see darker bottoms with the tops, or darker tops with the bottoms. Perhaps it is the shorter sleeves of the sweater that is throwing me off.

I like the outfit a lot. You had me with all the light colours. I do wonder whether the topper is a dash small - what do you think?

As to maternal guilt, our youngest is almost 24 now and I have no regrets about carving out a bit of time here and there for my pursuits. In hindsight, it may have been something I should have done more often.

I felt guilty the first time too No longer! This holiday I only got 3 days off (other than the Canadian stats) - and two of them, today and tomorrow are "us" days for DH and myself. The girls are quite happy to be back at daycare!

I just saw the cardi worn with the skirt, and it looks great - not too snug. I think it falls backwards when it's unfastened, which gives the impression that it's small. But it's fab, so no worries.
