Happy Holidays everyone I hope everyone who celebrates has had time with their loved ones and friends and enjoyed all the season has to offer.
I've been off the forum for two weeks preparing to leave my current position (today is my last day!), have a week of vacation and then start my new position January 6th. I've done a bit of sleuthing regarding the dress code and "the norm" for my new office-to-be and believe it's similar to how I dress now with a few exceptions.
In my current position, I have more often than not, been more dressy than my office requires. Although jeans are only allowed on Fridays, colored skinnies and sweaters are the staple of most of the ladies in the office, except for the higher up positions of course. My dresses/skirts with blazers are definitely on the dressier end.
The new position I'm going to will fit my dressier style well. At the beginning, I will play it more conservative until I get a true "lay of the land". So in relation to that, I took advantage of The Bay Boxing Day sales yesterday (online only) and ordered a a few things to try - a Nygard black blazer & pencil skirt suit, an ivory & black Dorothy Perkins petite dalmation print wrap blouse, and a pair of Nygard navy with black tuxedo stripe trousers. I'm excited to try the suit as I can wear it as a suit in a fairly conservative ensemble for Board meeting days but can also break it up to wear with funkier pieces for days with no meetings.
I have also fallen in love with a pair of Cole Haan lo flared heel animal print pumps that are currently on deep sale at The Bay. I like the lower heel height and the stability of a chunkier heel and the non pointy toe. I have found that the pointy toes on my black pumps are not great for my baby bunion. I like the wider toe box of these Cole Haan pumps. What do you think of these shoes? They come in both traditional brown/black animal print or in grey/black - which do you prefer?
